Short stories, novels, or poems?
I guess it depends on one’s definition of short? But I usually write a mix of short stories and novels. I can’t do poems worth a crap though. It always feels stilted, off, or clunky.
What genre do you prefer reading?
fantasy, sci-fi, and/or romance. It usually depends on my mood.
What genre do you prefer writing?
Are you a planner or a write-as-I-go kind of person?
Me plan?! What kind of person do you take me for!? No but in reality I really don’t tend to plan my stories that much. I may get the bare bones down, with a particular scene here and there but it’s mainly a go with the flow.
What music do you listen to while writing?
Depends! Most of the time I’ll listen to extended versions of video game music as it provides some noise but my brain won’t get distracted listening to the lyrics. Assuming I didn’t just whip out google docs on my phone and start typing that is.
Fave books/movies/tv shows?
books: Do you know how long it has been since I have read a book that isn’t a cook book? But Harry Potter still holds a place in my heart despite jkr’s recent bs
movies: Space Jam (fite me), MiB, Spongebob Squarepants movies, A quiet place (I tend to be more of a documentary person now a days)
tv shows: One punch man, amazing world of gumball, adventure time, last week tonight
I’ve been called out! But yes I usually write Dragon Age fanfic. I have 3 multi chapter male!warden/Alistair ones along with a series of sorts for that same pairing. 2 short stories with my 1st male inquisitor, and 2 short stories with my Legend of Zelda Linksona with about 50 more rattling around in my brain. I don’t post them though so I ain’t keeping anyone waiting.
Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing?
I mean to a degree my friends probably inspire a character or 2 but usually no.
Are you kill-happy with characters?
If I kill a character there’s a good chance I’m bringing them back to life. I like happy endings, dang it.
Coffee or tea while writing?
Coffee 100%. I can’t really drink tea so yeah.
*shrugs into infinity* No but really probably slow.
Where/who/what do you find inspiration from?
Everyone! Friends, music, pics, quotes, video games, dreams, imagination, other authors. Anything can kick start an idea for me.
Most fave book cliche? Least fave book cliche?
fave: Love me some supernatural falling in love with the human.
least: Stupid gender roles, Hey it’s the end of the world/war but instead of focusing on that we’re gonna shove romance down your throat, UNNECESSARY LOVE TRIANGLES!
Love me some hurt/comfort or characters being badass.
Most productive time of day for writing?
3 am. Jk kinda I do tend to write at night so the world’s a bit quieter so it’s nicer to focus.
I enjoy it! Yeah I may not be the best but I like letting my imagination have an outlet and even if it’s not “the best thing ever” it’s still something I like.
