one of my fave pics of zoot is that group photo from the jim henson hour era where they made his puppet extra tiny for some reason and he looks like a doll compared to everyone else

10. Idea for a future Muppet movie or special?

This isn’t a movie or special but I would really like to see them try the abc series again. I loved the idea of getting to know the characters with a much wider depth, see what their relationships are like off screen, and to just see them in a way that couldn’t be pulled off before.

The problem with the actual series was there was way too much focus on Kermit and Piggy’s relationship, which I think they did really well with don’t get me wrong. Like I adored the scene where Piggy stood up for herself and called Kermit out on his shit, but I wanted more focus on the other characters too… the other… 10 characters…. And the writers tried way too hard to make them adult when the muppets were already pretty adult to begin with so there was really no point.

If they did it all again, had more plots focusing on other characters, actually add in more characters so there can be someone to focus on, and brought in writers that know how the muppets work, I think this would make for a great series!

13. Who was your favorite guest star in any one of the Muppet variety shows?

I had a blast watching Pearl Bailey, you could tell she was having the time of her life when she was onscreen!!! And the camelot sketch is one of my favorite things they’ve ever done so I’m a little biased towards that.

Alice Cooper was great. I especially loved his little entourage of monsters and how his whole sideplot was getting the muppets to sell their souls to the devil.

Carol Brunette was amazing as usual. Watching her go insane is always fun, which is why I love her character Eunice so much.

Gene Kelly was also a favorite. I loved how the entire time he assumed that he was just there to watch the show. And the scene at the very end where he walks out of the theater always gives me chills, especially when you realize that it was the very last episode they filmed.

17. Muppet Merchandise you aim to get one day?

All the Rowlf merch. Any Rowlf merch that exists I want it all. Which is probably never gonna happen because they’re so rare/expensive af.

19. Favorite Muppet Puppeteer?

Oh that’s… here’s the thing, I adore all the characters for different reasons, so it’s kinda hard for me to just favor one performer. I mean I may favor one muppeteers performance of a character over another, but other than that I just can’t decide. Sorry.

i still don’t think steve shouldn’t have taken the brunt of this whole situation :-( ive read a few of his blog posts on his website and it seems like his “unprofessionalism” was him trying to argue against scripts that he felt was trying to make kermit into something he wasn’t- and then he gets blamed for playing him wrong???? it just makes no sense    i remember once instance in particular he didn’t like that they had kermit lie to robin in abc mupps- he felt that kermit would be more compassionate than that and wouldn’t lie to his nephew    

mm yeah. this whole thing does feel kinda suspicious, what with disney continuing to be pretty vague about the matter, cheryl’s outburst, and brian not going into detail about what steve’s ‘demands’ were. and it really does feel like everyone’s blaming steve for the show failing which isn’t fair at all.

still, what’s done is done and I wish steve and matt all the luck in the world. and I’m really curious to see how kermit’s character is gonna turn out after all this, because, based on brian’s description, it sounds like it’s gonna be quite interesting.
