It's been more than 2 weeks since I finished The Apothecary Diaries S1 & S2, and I still find it really progressive, and a peak example of feminism that when Maomao and Jinshi were in the cave, he had to give her CPR, and he involuntarily had to put his lips on her mouth...
I think many other anime would've went down the 'technically, we kissed' joke/trope hill, but not KNH. No one even acknowledged it neither then, nor after (as I remember it), Jinshi didn't make a fuss about it, Maomao wasn't disgusted. It was for a strictly MEDICAL, LIFE SAVING reason, and the anime handles it just like that.
That IS feminism right there. Not joking about or sexualising a - typically romantic and/or sexual - act, in which a man could not get consent from a woman, or vice versa.
I know KNH is really-really progressive in many ways, but I just wanted to point this one out, because it has been staying rent-free in my head ever since.
