I like beer, but I don’t like having all that liquid in my stomach so I order high ABV beers that come in goblets.

Bond Street is partnering with sweetgreen to tell the stories of the amazing vendors behind this year's sweetlife festival. Peak Organic Brewing is embracing the #sweetlife by using the "world's best ingredients" in their beers. --
“We were friends, brothers, guys who went to summer camp together,” says Jon Cadoux. Back in the 90’s, Jon and his friends used to bond over home brewing. They enjoyed the process of creating beer together, and they enjoyed drinking it together. “We were passionate foodies, too,” he says. After years of going to farmers markets, it occurred to Jon that the qualities he looked for in delicious fresh fruit and vegetables might be applicable to his brews. “Apples from a local farmer’s market always taste so much better, and we adopted that ethos.” So Jon and his friends made a commitment to using hops and barley from small local farms – and the difference was immediately noticeable. “People just loved it,” he says.
Soon after receiving his MBA, Jon approached his friends with the idea of opening a brewery based on their newfound commitment to using local ingredients. “We’d thought about it before, but none of us really knew anything about starting a business.” Newly armed with a business education and a highly differentiated product, Jon and his friends launched Peak Organic Brewing – “a small brewing company dedicated to making delicious organic beer using the world’s best ingredients” - in 2003. Initially available only in Maine and New Hampshire, demand for the company’s products grew quickly, and distribution has since expanded throughout the East Coast. “When you open up a Peak IPA, we really believe the organic hops are just more vivid and poignant and pure. If it’s a local family farm growing something in a really skilled way, it’s going to be better than the mass produced version.” While Peak has become a formidable player in the competitive brewing industry, Jon says he and his buddies are just getting started. “By the time we’re done, we hope we’ve had a very serious impact on the way hops and barley are grown in the United States.”
