“Little? I’m six-five, lady.” She placed her hands on each side of this woman’s face before pressing her lips to hers, but only briefly. She’d then release the woman and take a step back.
“There you go.”

“There you go.”
"What are 'man-stealing moon rabbits', and how does one go about hiring them?"
“There is a rabbit...i-it lives on the moon. Most of the time it pounds rice cakes in a pestle. Except one night it descended to earth as a demure pink-eyed woman who seduced away my mate. You will not be able to hire one because if I ever see it again, I am making myself moon rabbit mittens.”

“I know you guys don’t really celebrate Halloween, but that doesn’t really mean you can’t enjoy something... right?” In any case, the clerk was giving free samples of candy that they had recently imported.
The holiday seemed like a great marketing opprotunity in any case... since gramps doesn’t look like he’s quite ready to get back any time soon.

“…Is this a cow joke? Are you going to call me ‘oxen’ next?”
“You weigh as much as a cow and hit like a ragin’ bull.” *subconsciously rubs his nose*
“So why not, it suits you. I see you already even have a matching cowbell danglin’ on your neck. You better be careful walkin’ around barns, or some poor farmmaid may try to milk you by mistake.”
"A child at Idofront? How odd."
“Huh? Odd? But I live here! If anyone’s odd it would be you…” Prushka observed Ozen carefully, taking in as many details as she could. “You’re reeeaalllly tall!”
"Did someone say traveling maid?"
“Kind of an overstatement, but I wouldn’t mind sweeping some floors if I had a stable place to rest my head while exploring. Or at least don’t attack me if I set up camp around this layer.”
"Why -haven't- you become a Black Whistle, Jirou?"
“Belchero can’t look after the orphans alone.”

How pitiful - a wailing child in the form of a priceless artifact. Really, he would’ve been far more useful if he didn’t behave like a human brat. Ozen stared at the tears washing down his face in torrents. She didn’t care to think what was racing through his mind, as the same had already permeated hers the moment she caught wind of foreign raiders with children in their grasp.
She’d made quick work of the small group she found clamoring up with a pack of stolen relics, but they must’ve been a diversion. There had to be another group in the midst of sneaking to the surface, in their possession the daughter of the infamous Lord of Annihilation. Did they know who she was? Ozen couldn’t imagine any other reason for them to kidnap her. All White Whistles had foreign grudges held against them, especially Lyza for her joyous slaughtering. The most important matter, however, was how those raiders would know about Riko. Only a handful of people knew, and they were all worthy of trust.
Unless the walking meat was chattering about her mother without notice of her surrounding, which was more likely.
“What an acute observation. I would’ve never thought of it myself. Here I was, wondering if we should have tea and pastries with a fresh bottle of jam.” Ozen knocked the boy on the helmet, leaving a resounding clang. “Quit your slobbering. I need details - insignias, accents, notable physical characteristics, anything you can recall at all, or are you so useless that the moment danger presents itself, you become utterly incapable of even looking around?”
Shame coursed with the rest of Reg’s mess of emotions at Ozen’s words – his brain usually becoming scrambled at the moment of dangerous situations, always proving to be his downfall. And now it was thanks to him that Riko could be hurt, or worse. He had to focus, Ozen was right - he couldn’t let himself be the reason Riko would never make it back.
– ❮ I can’t remember it too well.. But they didn’t have any whistles on them, and were strong enough to stop me when I tried to save Riko.. Before they finally left me behind on their way down they had mentioned something about Lyza.. ❯
He wished he had more information – anything that could help them catch those irredeemable kidnappers faster, but Reg’s mind was nothing but a blur of both emotional and physical pain. If only he had been more cautious that night.. if only he had taken more time to prepare for any potential threats whether Ozen was near or not. He was trying to hold it together, but it was so hard knowing his best friend was somewhere he didn’t know, helpless.
