Rec: This is a slightly older fic (published in 2013) but doesn’t have as many hits and kudos as I feel it deserves. I thought at first from the summary and tags that it would be similar to a Pirate!lock adventure, but it’s not that at all. It’s set in modern times but with a touch of magic, lots of romance and yummy insecure!Sherlock and BAMF!John. A really terrific story with an underlying mystery and a surprise reveal. It’s also a fusion with the myth of the Flying Dutchman, of which I only have a very passing knowledge so I can't say whether knowing it in more detail would be a spoiler.

Rec: I hardly have any tags that fit this because it’s not exactly casefic, not exactly gen, not exactly romance, and not exactly established relationship. Yet it’s also all of those. More properly, this is a story about friendship and devotion, a sort of pre-slash firming up of John and Sherlock’s relationship with a spooky twist that hits just the right Halloween note. Toss in a dash of doctorly John and unexpectedly sentimental Sherlock, and it’s the perfect mix for a quick fix of mystery, deductions, and bromance.
