Happy beyond belief! All but one of my fics have been recovered, and I now have back all my Wayleska fics - primarily thanks to fellow Gothamite and Waleska lover @untyped. Thank you my friend, you are a lifesaver! Also big thanks to @serenitysniper who had Paying For It. This post is happily “closed.”
I am now only missing my Jeremiah x Oswald fic called “Paying For It.” It’s an odd pairing, to be sure. There may be only one or two other fics about this ship, and I think mine was the first - but the BDSM aspects didn’t agree with a lot of readers. There were appropriate tags, but still. I knew I would be limiting the audience with the subject matter. I checked in regularly with folks I knew in that community to make sure I was being realistic and honoring their lifestyle.
I do have the first 20 chapters that were buried on my Google drive - but the second half of the fic (22 additional chapters that I fear I can’t recreate) had a lot of backstory for Jeremiah, Jerome, Lila, Zach and a host of original characters told through flashbacks. I’ve added a snapshot in this post of what the summary looked like in case it jogs anyone’s memory and they realize - “hey yeah, I did download that mf before the author did a stupid thing and deleted their account!”
(I did already try web.archive.org so I know this fic is not going to be easily recovered.)
If you know any Gotham fans that might have been interested in this strange ship with no name (what would we call them? Osmiah? Jerewald? Cobbleska? Penjokes?), please signal boost the shit out of this to them. Maybe someone has some of the chapters downloaded somewhere. I am eternally grateful for your time if you read this, and have learned a lesson about doing impulsive things when I’m depressed.
