What is Pens For Pals?

I remember the first time I felt alone. It in fifth grade and there was a boy who constantly pestered me. Although it seemed like his actions were trivial now, my ten year old self started feeling hopeless. I never thought the problem was meaningful enough to tell my family, making me feel even more alone and helpless. As the bullying continued, I began to sink farther into loneliness. I didn’t want to talk about my problem with anyone which caused me to become increasingly more recluse. As someone who loved to learn, I started dreading school because i knew I would be faced with more harassment. It wasn’t until I changed schools the following year that this dread stopped. 

I tell this story to let you know that feeling alone can be draining. It can be overwhelming and deteriorate your ability to hope for a better day. If we continue to exhaust our body with the stress, pressure, and sadness that we hold inside ourselves, we drain ourselves from living. It isn’t something that should be fought, but, instead, liberated. The will to live and see a better future is paramount for surviving any struggle. However, it can be challenging to do it alone.

This story is personal, but I want to share it because it shows that you are not alone. While my story may pale in comparison to others’ stories, I know how loneliness can affect you and I never would want that to happen to someone else. That’s why Pens for Pals was created. No one should ever feel unloved or unwanted. Pens for Pals seeks to support those who feel unloved or hopeless.

Anti-suicide, anti-bullying Charity with several unique programs to provide long-term support and healing for those affected by suicide or bullying, including guiding first responders through the grieving process. We work with like minded profits to provide creative outlets, safer communities and REMOVE the taboo of talking about how we feel or what we feel.
