BB, after reading your tags, I feel compelled to ask you about your kinky Twilight ships

Okay, so, serious talk: I never shipped Bella/Edward. Not even in the height of my Twilight phase (which lasted roughly a year and a half). Pairings I did ship (in vague descending order):

Bella/Jacob

Bella/Alice

Bella/Jasper

Bella/Rosalie

Bella/literally anyone other than Edward, please God

(you’ll notice there’s no poly pairings here like the incredibly obvious Bella/Alice/Jasper. But it was like 2008 and the concept of polyamory had not yet been introduced to me or the majority of the Twilight fandom’s audience)

Bella/Edward was something I only read if I was truly scraping the bottom of the barrel. However, as all my favorite pairings were kind of niche, I ended up reading Bella/Edward a lot more than I liked.

Twilight fandom, honest to God, is what introduced me to kink, at least in a way where I was like, “Oh, okay, that’s actually hot and not weird and creepy.” This is because Twilight fandom, like Harry Potter or Glee, is one of those fandoms where all the fic is either excellent and written by literary geniuses or shit and written by people who know shit, there is no in-between.

Because of this, I read The Submissive and its sequels The Dominant and The Training when they were still fics and not books. I remember reading Fifty Shades and wondering where the fuck I had read this before, before realizing that, oh, E.L. James stole a lot of the tropes from The Submissive but didn’t understand the context or reasoning, which is one of the reasons Fifty Shades is so shitty.

(I could go into a whole long rant about it, but I will stop there before I start comparing everything, especially THE FUCKING MEALPLANS)

However, the one fic I kept going back to was one I remember fairly clearly. Bella is engaged to human!Edward, who is a medical resident. Edward is saving himself for marriage (because that’s canon), so Alice convinces boyfriend Jasper to have sex with Bella because she’s gone so long without a man (I swear to God, that’s the actual justification). I remember that there’s a scene where she has to buy the morning after pill and he stays with her to help her take it, and they slowly fall in love because he’s just more emotionally (and sexually) there for her than Edward is.

Anyway, Alice ends up cheating on Jasper (which is sad because 1) fave character and 2) they were portrayed as basically having a healthy open relationship in the beginning, it’s clear that the author had Alice cheat because she couldn’t think of a way for Bella to get with Jasper otherwise). So now Jasper’s free but Bella isn’t. Bella gets an IUD which implants wrong and has to be removed before it gets infected (there’s a lot of loving descriptions of different birth control methods, it’s fantastic), and while they’re at the hospital, Edward falls in love with Bella’s attractive male gynecologist (I KNOW). So Bella and Jasper live happily ever after.

Also there’s a scene where Jasper gets Bella a dildo he made of his own dick using a mold and typing that sentence it seems absurd but I swear in context it seemed really cute.

Anyway I haven’t been able to find it again but that was my one particularly favorite kinky Twilight ship.

Family alcoholic patterns are the worst, and I wish you luck! And don't beat yourself up if you can't go it alone- reaching out is good, and there are support systems that can help you. You got this!!!

On the bright side, I’m telling myself that if my parents can do it then I can do it! I have some resources on the back burner just in case I can’t do it <3 Thank you so much!!!

I had a to of fun at the museum of pop culture, the exhibits their are awesome.

tbh I wasn’t super interested in the pop culture museum when my friend mentioned it, but I’ve had so many people recommend it I guess I better check it out!

in the past I've really enjoyed Elliott Bay Books, Serious Pie for pizza, B.Fuller's Mortar & Pestle (like an apothecary for tea), the pop culture museum is v cool, and the ferries to hiking around the sound are gorgeous on good-weather days :)

Three sentence fic! IF you are up to Leverage, I am in love with the ot3 >:) Or Marvel, anything with Peggy?

*sighs delightedly* Oh Leverage OT3, how you soothe my poor soul in these times of stress and worry about upcoming loan payments. (Also, how you make it fun to imagine how my friends, my characters, etc would all fit into the positions of the Leverage team. It is agreed that if Disney Princess had a bit more of a grey-moral-scale, she’d make an EXCELLENT grifter.)

Also I asked and my dear friend here wanted a coffee shop or library AU. I considered the library AU because hello, future librarian. I got as far as knowing Hardison would be Head of the Tech Department, and Parker would be a Special Collections librarian… before getting stumped and started thinking too much of my thesis portfolio. So Coffee Shop AU (sort of) it is!

Also, this is… three very long sentences that I use semi-colons to cheat on, and two shorter sentences. Oh well.

Hardison came there because it had the best wifi of any of the coffee shops in the area, and was close to everywhere he ever bothered to go and so was convenient. He’d met Parker there almost two years ago - different, but not in any kind of bad way, beautiful and impressive and wonderful - who came to work on her sketches and have a steady supply of sugary caffeine; they’d started dating several months ago and it was going well.

They both agreed that they definitely needed to get Mr Grumpy to sit with them though; how someone that grumpy could look so tempting (and still be kind every morning to the barista and to the old lady that usually showed up about ten minutes before he did) was a mystery to Hardison, and one he and Parker would be delighted to figure out.

They just hadn’t planned on getting to finally talk to him because Hardison’s bag tripped him and he spilled his coffee.

Oops.

idk what the original posters think when writing posts like that but all i ever see is “i love girls who [insert abusive behavior or behavior/trait potentially indicative of abusiveness]” or if not this then just glorifying being mean

I just read a handful of poems from Poisoned Apples: Poems for You, My Pretty and boy oh boy are they nice.

Not in the “oh how sweet” way. In the “Some of these are a fucking call to arms, to battle, and I am here for it” kind of way.

Literally, one ends with the verse “How stupid that all I have to do / is grow two squishy lumps and suddenly / I’m man’s best friend.”

There’s a whole poem about how, if tampons were for guys, it’d be presented as the toughest, coolest, manliest shit ever. Prince Charming tells his girlfriend that her shirt is nice because it makes her boobs look bigger. There’s a poem about how dumb the argument for girl’s dress codes being because cleavage can distract a boy is.

I want to own this poem book.

And just when I thought I’d not have to think about hockey for a few more months...

Got a call from the local AHL team, from one of their member reps, willing to talk to me about plans for next year. Which means they’ve got a bit of a schedule up, and mini-plans listed.

...Shit. They’re affordable - I’ve budgeted well and so long as I do not spend money too excessively the rest of the summer and nothing unexpected and terrible happens, I can pull off even the biggest plan they offer.

So I could do the Bakers Dozen which is 13 premium weekend games (with the ‘Never Waste a Ticket’ policy, discounts on additional tickets I order, preferred seating and the same seats each game, plus discounted playoff tickets).

Or I could do the Saturday Night Special, which is seven Saturday games (with all the same spiffy “extra” benefits as the above).

OR I could do the Custom 6 which is pretty self explanatory, and ALSO comes with all the same stuff as the above two.

I guess it just depends on how often I plan on going, and how much I wanna spend.

I went like five times last year and wanted to go more, tbh, so I think it’s either the Saturday Night Special or the Bakers Dozen. I’d do the former, but I doubt I can get someone to go with me EVERY time I go to a game, so I’d have to be okay going by myself.

I’m terrible company at hockey games tbh. I just want to watch, not talk, while the game is going. I’ll talk during the intermissions (”about the GAME” my little sis said, lol) but otherwise I’m kinda focused. So, I wouldn’t really care about going alone, I just have anxiety about going to “social” things alone, lol. Going to the movies alone is hard for me. Going to watch the game at the bar the other night, by myself, was hard to do. (But I did it and it was great. So, if I can do that I should be able to do an actual game? Right?)

Basically, I’m like 85% sure I’m going to do the biggest plan, but I also am kinda worried about doing so. But I think if I do less I’m going to regret not getting to go to more games. :/
