Making peppermint extract to make candy with!
I looked up how to make it, and you cut up peppermint leaves, put them in a jar, cover with spirit alcohol, close the jar and leave in a dark place for 6 months! I had this pepper mint invading my garden so I let it grow for this purpose.
I know that seems like a long wait but 6 months will pass anyway and this way I'll have peppermint extract for Halloween. When I first read the instructions I thought, isn't this how you make a tincture? And its NOT. It takes 2 weeks to get a tincture, and you start with dry leaves and have to flip the jar twice every day. Maybe I'll dry some and try for a tincture too, its good for digestion issues.
