spent 7 hrs today working on this tangled au of indy and his alters, ill likely follow up with the written lore in the morning. they do have different names in this au so ill at least let you know whos who if you dont remember the colors of each yet:

Purple - Chevy - Severus

Blonde - Petra - Nan/Nanny
The hair in this AU is only magic in the fact that it changes colors with whatever alter is fronting. It does not carry any healing properties like Rapunzel's. I'll explain more what his actual powers are in the post in the morning.
doodled a little portrait of my boy :3 i got thinking about his teeth and the fact that considering everything hes lived through so far, he likely would not have been able to brush his teeth for years until fairly recently, so i figured why not show that staining.
I drew Indy's grandparents, aunts, uncles, mother, and father :3
Sativa, the green haired girl, is his mother.
Dominic, the guy in the yellow tank top is his father.
Green haired grandfather is moms side, magenta haired is fathers side.
Tie dye dress grandmother is moms side, red dress grandmother is fathers side.
The only one from the aunts and uncles on his father's side is Lucy, the tallest aunt, Dominic's twin sister.
The grandparents were drawn at the ages they were when Indy's mother, Sativa, was born. The aunts and uncles were drawn at the age they were when Sativa gave birth to Indy.
Now, for the furry Snoop Dogg variant, I just genuinely thought it'd be funny if Indy had him as a family member because his whole mothers side of the family is inspired by different weed strains. He is NOT an uncle of Indica's, and is actually his second cousin through his mother, but because there's such a large age gap(29 years) between Indy and Snoop, he just calls/considers him Uncle Snoop.
Posting my art on here for the first time, it's my main oc/sona, Indica Peppermint.
He's a One Piece oc with a fuck ton of lore and NOTHING to do with the strawhats. His story actually takes place about 10-12 years before Luffy's story. Below is the main brunt of his backstory but it's not written out well its written like a ramble because im going to be real with you, it's copy pasted from a discord message:
He is the son of a pirate(unknown to him at the time of joining the marines) and an average civilian woman. His father's piracy was a bit of a side hustle alongside his stage magician career. His name was Angel Leone, but to his many fans he was known as Dominic Checkers, the man who could make magic look like reality.
Pre-show one night, he was approached by the refreshments girl, Sativa Peppermint, working the venue with a box of donuts. She offered him one and it was like love at first bite(for her at least). So they chat a bit and hit it off, and decide to spend the night together after the show. Things are going great, so they decide to actually give dating and eventually marriage a shot. They marry within 6 months of meeting. Sativa gets pregnant shortly after the wedding and has indica in the tail end of her 19th year. For the first few years, things are going good.
But then when Indy is about 3 years old, his father starts to show his true colors around them and is showing to be a shitty husband and father. The biggest fight was when indy was 5 years old and Angel lit a cigarette right beside indy in his high chair in the kitchen(sativa was not in the room). Sativa heard indy cough from the secondhand smoke and burst in, ripping the cig out of angels mouth and snuffing it on the floor.(what sativa doesnt know is indy was actually given a small puff by his dad bc he thought itd be funny, and thats why he coughed.)
That lead to Angel screaming at her, and his color pallete changing to a blood red. For context, Angel is the user of the Palette Palette fruit, he can change the color palettes of anything including himself, and sometimes when he gets extra emotional his color changing shows through his hair and eyes. The color switch scared indy and he started crying, which made Angel start blaming sativa's blow up on angel instead of the actual reason(dad just turned scary).
So later that night, Angel is talking to his best friend, Presto. Presto is not just his friend, but also his hat he wears for shows. Presto, yes the hat, ate the human human model Hermes fruit YEARSSSS BEFORE angel ever met him/obtained him. Now presto is a little fucking bitch and no one likes him lol. Angel is complaining to Presto about Sativa and how he honestly regrets ever marrying her and having Indy. So Presto just is like "if you hate them so much, why dont you just kill them?" halfjoking half serious, and Angel decides to take that idea and use it.
So one night, he makes some like hot cocoa or something, and slips some liquid rat poison into it to kill them both and then make his escape. There was an error on his part though, and he accidentally swapped the doses. He gave indica(5 years old at the time) the adult dose and Sativa(who was 24) the childs dose. Because of that, Sativa could've tanked the poison, but indy was doomed. So when sativa saw the poison the dumbass left on the counter before dipping, she was like "Oh fuck no. We are NOT doing this today." and used her own devil fruit powers on Indy.
Shes the user of the sleep sleep fruit, so she threw indy into a very very deep slumber where she ramped up his bodys natural sleep processes to help him digest the poison safely. She was awake for three days with constant hands on him until he woke back up on his own and she knew the poison was out of his system. doing this did permanently fuck up his metabolism, but it did also give him a permanent resistance to poison that goes through his stomach.
Because she was up for 3 days nonstop using her powers, the poison she couldve tanked took more of a toll on her body than it wouldve if she didnt use her powers, so her immune system was shot. She eventually succumbed to her compromised immune system to a cold when Indica was 9 years old.
Because of her death, he scrounged up every last Beri he could find in the house to get her a marked plot at the graveyard in town bc "hes heard about what they do to people who cant afford it"(aka unmarked grave).
After that, he stayed in the house as long as he could with the food that was left, but once that ran out he moved out onto the streets in hopes to find more. he was living on the streets for about 7 years. at this time was when his mental state started to fracture into the osdd it is today.
His first alter was Krona, a really sweet and timid girl who was all the soft pieces indy couldnt show in his new environment. when he was 11, he met another two kids who were also alone and hungry like him. Their names were Dream and Molly. An older brother younger sister duo. Molly was 10, Dream was 12. the three of them stuck together because safety in numbers, and over the years they'd try to rob places for food or a little money so they could survive.
Also over the years, Indy started to develop a crush on Dream, but he never pursued it out of anxiety and stigma and he wasnt even sure if Dream liked boys too, so instead he started dating Molly(the more socially acceptable one) when they were 13/14(she was 13, he was 14).
When Indy was 16, they went to rob a place that they didnt know happened to have the home of the shop keep on the second floor. Dream went up the stairs thinking it was more storage, and was instead met with the barrell of a rifle instead. he fell down the stairs and indy tried to keep him alive, but the shopkeeper realizing what he did and that they were just kids, called the marines to arrest Indy and Molly.
As soon as he grabbed his snail, Molly BOOKED IT completely abandoning indy and dream. Indy confessed his crush to Dream, but never got a response back because he was too far gone and he doesnt know if Dream actually heard him. He was arrested on the spot for attempted robbery and murder.
Indy was charged with the murder because the shopkeep was too afraid of being arrested for the death because despite it being self defense, it was still just an unarmed kid. So the shopkeep threw the gun towards Indy and threw the blame his way too, and because Indica was a dirty homeless teenager, they believed the shopkeep over him.
He was then put into prison for 5 years due to his age. He was set to be released on his 21st birthday, but then about a year and a half into his sentence, another prisoner tried getting a little too handsy and thats when his second alter in his system showed himself for the first time, Saccharine. Saccharine had a very, violent, first impression. The second the prisoner tried getting too handsy, saccharine switched into front for the first time and lunged at the guy, biting a chunk out of his shoulder from blinding rage that he'd try to touch indy. That incident lead to him getting another 2 years tacked onto his sentence for nearly killing a guy(he lived but it was close). So his sentence was now a total of 7 years.
He developed 2 more alters while in prison, an alter named Chevy who was an introject of his favorite athlete as a child, and Petra who was more soft and warm and cozy. He was released in August of his 22nd year, released early due to good behavior.
After release, he went back to the shop dream died at(abandoned now), and squatted there for about a week. During that week, his most recent alter developed, an introject of Dream. He did get kicked out of the shop for squatting by patrolling marines, so after he got kicked out, he went back to his now rotting childhood home, grabbed whatever stuff he could for memories or potential survival, then after that he went to the church in town(same place his mother is buried) for potential work and shelter. He spent the next 2 weeks collecting whatever he could of his "inheritance" from his childhood home.
While living at the church, he worked as a gravekeeper and funeral director. He figured it was the least he could do since the priest was letting him stay rent free.
One day while out getting groceries, he spots a wanted poster for a pirate. its not the first one hes seen, but the name and face are a little too familiar to sit right with him. DISCOBLUE MOLLY, CAPTAIN OF THE MENTHOL PIRATES, WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE.
He decided that "Huh, that poster says wanted dead. If i kill her as a civilian, ill get thrown back in prison. BUT if i kill her as a marine, I get away with it scott free and maybe even some praise!" so he tried applying to the marines.
He kept applying for MONTHS with constant rejections. One day, his application showed up on the desk of certain recrutier by the name of Vanilla. He took one look at his app and said "yes. i want him." to which all the other recuiters were like "he is SUCH a liabilty, this is a bad idea." and vanilla was like "i dont care. im taking him in. im giving him this chance." because Vanilla recognized Indy from his prison days.
But not just that, he was the same marine that cuffed Indy the night dream died. He remembered the fear and pain indy was showing, and he remembers "that wasnt an evil man. that was a scared hurting kid who needed help and we didnt give him that. Were giving it too him now."
