Can we just stop for a second and talk about how the Avengers fandom had this ideal of Boy Scout Steve Rogers who follows orders without question and expects the orders he gives to be followed the same way, is close-minded about new ideas, hates swearing/less-than-pure senses of humour, is embarrassed around women and treats them like they're fragile flowers rather than people, and saw his time period as being superior to the present

And then CA:TWS came out

And in the first ten minutes the movie completely destroyed all of that, showing Steve being a little shit and fucking with a complete stranger just for shits and giggles, pointing out that his time had a lot of shit wrong with it and it's actually a lot better now, listening to people when they try to give him advice and keeping an open mind about what they say, bitching about how SHIELD is seriously getting on his last nerve with all this "need to know follow orders without question" bullshit, making off-colour jokes about how everyone he used to know is now dead and Natasha's constant attempts to be a bro and get him a date, and being completely comfortable around women and treating them as equals because he sees them as such

And the movie as a whole is basically a gigantic ode to showing that Steve is not perfect, that he has flaws (both in character and in action) just like everyone else, but that he tries to be the best person he can be
