[ La sera del 20 ottobre un imponente gufo comune plana nella sala comune Grifondoro bubolando quella che ricorda la celebre intro di starwars per aspettare che Nimbus gli porga un braccio su cui posarsi e drpositargli in grembo un pacco incartato con semplice pergamena marroncina. All'interno un bigliettino bianco recante la scritta disordinata ]

Heilá! Ho messo in questo quaderno le foto della band, del concerto, il testo della canzone ecc. Diciamo che è un regalo per voi della band, io lo consegno a te che sei il capo. Magari scriveteci i testi delle prossime canzoni e le prossime foto così quando sarete famosi avrete tanti bei ricordi di questo periodo oppure bo. Fate voi, mi sembrava una cosa carina. Passo e chiudo! Peri.

Lùmos Màxima

 In un diverso periodo dell`anno avrebbe pure apprezzato. Oggi, otto giugno, c`è una sentenza pronto a crollargli sul capo. Indirettamente che sia. Va calcolando qualcosa mentre lei saltella allegramente sul prato. « Lùmos Màxima » mossa la bacchetta a tracciare una S a mezz`aria, ora tutto assorto a visualizzare lo sprigionare inteso di pura luce dalla bacchetta, un fiotto irradiante di luminosità scagliata a trafiggere la caduta fitta di pioggia e sovrastare la testolina femminile fino a fermarsi sospesa poco dietro lei, aura di luce che - a spiarla, se riuscisse - potrebbe provocare riflessi d`arcolabeno tra le gocce piovane.

Una pioggia di fiori attorno a lei, l'abbraccio di un pulcino al randagio scontroso, mormorii calmi e segreti condivisi nel caos del dormitorio del VI Corvonero. 

Peritas inclina il capo, per trovare l`angolazione giusta con cui osservare i colori. Ridacchia di gioia, con quello spettacolo riflesso negli occhi «Grazie!» Esclama solo verso David che le ha donato con così poco una tale gioia. 

Queste cose le facevi per Leen.

 Arcobaleno ottenuto, può alzare invece la mancina a mezz`aria per farle cenno di avvicinarsi - perché forse, come per i bambini, bisogna distrarla per distogliergliela dall`interesse per la pioggia e potenziale malanno, facendola concentrare su altro. Tipo la Divinazione. « Ne faccio spesso uno. » Di sogni, sottointeso. « Le prime volte era nitido e sempre identico. Poi ne ho avuto solo sprazzi, come appronfondimenti di una scena tra le tante. Riconosco delle persone importanti, nel sogno. Incontro ognuna di loro nel percorso che affronto e... » si gratta rozzamente una tempia, portando poi quella mano scura, ruvida, fino alla nuca. Nella posizione, s`accentuano gli avvallementi muscolari del braccio destro sollevato accanto alla testa, affinché il palmo s`accosti alla rasatura graduale che finisce per divampare in una cresta riccoliuta sulla sommità della sua notevole statura. Contro quell`irrivirenza, gli spigoli definiti e austeri del profilo maschile. Sbuffa. « Di tutte loro sono rimaste solo la seconda e penultima. Le altre in un modo o nell`altro non ci sono più. »

Ugh. Hai dato la mano a McTaschifo una volta e il suo Gramo ti è rimasto addosso. Forse Jacquelyn bambina egoista ti ha maledetto. O è la punizione per esserti venduto l’anima per un collare.

This isn't so much a question, but as a dog owner, I do like to think that Alexander really did name a city "Peritas" after his doggo :)

I think that's probably true, although do keep in mind that these "cities" were really hill-forts, many of them.

But it seems true that Alexander was very fond of his animals.

As of December 2025 it officially contains two species, found in Madagascar and in Yemen: M. balfouri and M. lambertoni. Though recently, the position of M. lambertoni has been put into question, being deemed an incerta sedis.

The 1975–76 Indiana Pacers season was Indiana's ninth season and last in the American Basketball Association (ABA). One noteworthy thing involving the Pacers this season was that they were the team to have been forced to cancel a game against the recently rebranded San Diego Sails franchise after the Sails played in only 11 total games before closing up their franchise on a night where the Pacers were scheduled to play against them in San Diego. Despite later finishing the season with a losing record (which would be their first since the inaugural ABA season), the Pacers would be the fifth and final team to make it to the 1976 ABA Playoffs (being four games ahead of the Spirits of St. Louis despite them having a bunch of star players to their squad), which was the final playoffs ever done in ABA history. Once there, they would lose the quarterfinal round in what would become their final playoff series match against their original ABA rivals (the only other team that would stay put with their team name starting from the initial 1967-68 ABA season, as well as play in every ABA Playoff event, up until this point in time), the Kentucky Colonels 2–1. After that point, the Pacers would ultimately become the final ABA team out of what were considered the four strongest ABA teams in that point in time (the Denver Nuggets, New York Nets, and San Antonio Spurs) to survive the ABA-NBA merger and join the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the following season, with their ABA dynasty they had early on in the league playing a part in them surviving the merger from the ABA to the NBA.

In mathematics, the Kodaira embedding theorem characterises non-singular projective varieties, over the complex numbers, amongst compact Kähler manifolds. In effect it says precisely which complex manifolds are defined by homogeneous polynomials.

Kunihiko Kodaira's result is that for a compact Kähler manifold M, with a Hodge metric, meaning that the cohomology class in degree 2 defined by the Kähler form ω is an integral cohomology class, there is a complex-analytic embedding of M into complex projective space of some high enough dimension N. The fact that M embeds as an algebraic variety follows from its compactness by Chow's theorem. A Kähler manifold with a Hodge metric is occasionally called a Hodge manifold (named after W. V. D. Hodge), so Kodaira's results states that Hodge manifolds are projective. The converse that projective manifolds are Hodge manifolds is more elementary and was already known.

Kodaira also proved (Kodaira 1963), by recourse to the classification of compact complex surfaces, that every compact Kähler surface is a deformation of a projective Kähler surface. This was later simplified by Buchdahl to remove reliance on the classification (Buchdahl 2008).
