Bath Abbey - Somerset
Oh the poetic beauty of parallel and perpendicular lines
Destined forever to be side by side, never touching, but at least you’re always together
Or destined to touch only once, a brief glimpse of what life could be, and then never again
Parallel lines- extending in the same direction together for eternity, always an equal distance apart, maybe that distance is only a centimeter but its there, physically incapable of ever touching, of ever being more than what you are, forever chained to be together but never united
Perpendicular lines- opposites, going different paths, but you touch, once, ever so briefly, for a singular point in time. Stretching away from each other, always moving and changing and never intersecting again, but for one moment, one short little span in time, you have at least gotten a taste of what could be
Forever side by side, forever there but never together, forever the back up, the reliable constant
Once.
Which would you choose?
Is it better to mourn what was never had at all, or worse off to know what could have been, had you had more time
(Sort of) Perpendicular snowflake
[Retaining the perpendicular.]
