Today a guy was sitting at a light that had been green for several seconds so I gave him a friendly light beep in case he wasn't paying attention
Dude proceeds to check his mirror then purposefully camp at the green light for another several seconds so I give him a long beep
He starts driving below the speed limit and like listen I'm a woman who is used to being on the defense when it comes to men's egos so I raise my phone to start recording and dude slows to a crawl to the point I think he might get out of his car in the busy street
At the next green light he slowed down further as if waiting to see where I would go; I decided whatever direction he went I'd do the opposite and I was basically a block from my house at this point so I was very worried he was gonna follow me (wouldn't be the first time) so when he turned I went straight and kept going for a while until I figured he was truly gone and then made my way back home in the most inconvenient way ever
It's truly pathetic that at many times a year since covid, this happens to me. I told people I got a dash cam for insurance; the reality is that I got it because the number of road rage incidents that I've witnessed or been a victim of shot up like crazy and thankfully most of them I've caught on video. It sucks this time happened to be when my dash cam wasn't plugged in. All it takes is a friendly beep at a light, or rightfully leaning on the horn when someone does a crazy dangerous stunt in front of me, and people have literally followed me home (which I know to drive past). One time a guy DID follow me, stop in the middle of the road and get out of his car and come at me. It's always a guy, always. I'm so tired.
