Today is my birthday and because it was forecasted to rain today I decided to give my birthday present to myself yesterday. I went to my first in situ fossil site. Incredibly exciting. And I think I saw the fossils, but my brain is saying "You looked at the wrong thing. That's just an intrusion or something."

So the black rocks are supposedly petrified wood in Jurrasic age (Pliensbachian - Bathonian / 190.8 - 166.1 MYA) rock.

I would've liked to see petrified wood, but it was also cool to see the rock formations at this bluff.
