The top image is of the stage I'm using as the backdrop to my animation, i used the image of the red curtain off the internet but the wooden stage beneath is my own creation, i used a perspective tool on Toon boom after watching a short YouTube video on how to use perspective line tools https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paUKcUiYITA, i used the to create the boards and filled them with a colour gradient after.
The second image is a picture i screen shot from one of my favorite animator Jib Kodi, which is were i though to have my character pull confetti out of his hoodie pocket.
Perspective Tool
The perspective tool is helpful when trying to do backgrounds and objects which follow a certain perspective.
To use it simply press the “Perspective Grid” which will come up with this:
Which can be adjusted by the dots on the end of the lines, such as the horizon line and vanishing points.
Then to use it, using the different shape tools, they will automatically follow the perspective grid when selected.
Playing around with the perspective tool over images as well as creating my own, replication of one of my sketches
HALP
I just tried really hard to figure out how N uses the perspective tool to do her backgrounds (it’s like magic I swear) and I just got really frustrated and gave up,,,,,,if anyone has any tips please let me know :((((
