Since I’m still thinking about high effort “investment” offerings:

This weekend I spent hours in the 90 degree heat, working under the boiling sun. I got sunburned, scraped, bumped, and bruised. My muscles are sore, my nerves are on fire, my eyes sting. I used up all of Monday’s spoons, most of Tuesday, and probably a few of Wednesday’s as well. But it was worth it, for 30 minutes of water and wind working in harmony. To hear Pesse croon in his crashing breakers rumble as I lay in bed exhausted but in to much pain to sleep.

I love it. And he loves it. And I love that he loves it. So I will continue to do it for him whenever I can, no matter the cost to me.

The Duality of an Old Man

I took a little trip to the seaside this past weekend for work convention my mortal partner was attending. While there I got to enjoy the ocean during a Nor’Easter/blizzard and the calm the next morning.

Auto ramt boom en geparkeerde auto in Pesse

Een vrouw aan de Dorpsstraat in Pesse schrok zich woensdagavond om even voor zeven uur een hoedje.

De vrouw wilde weggaan en had alvast een Maxi-Cosi in de auto gezet. Terwijl ze haar baby een jasje aan trok hoorde ze een enorme dreun. Toen ze naar buiten liep zag ze dat een Poolse auto tegen haar auto was aangereden.

De bestuurder van een Poolse Renault was vanaf de Beilerstraat gekomen, waar hij, volgens getuigen, vlak voor de bocht met hoge snelheid een bestelbus inhaalde. In de bocht verloor de bestuurder de macht over het stuur, ramde een boom en een paaltje, schoot het gras over en knalde tegen de geparkeerde auto vlakbij de woning.

De Pool raakte gewond en is met een ziekenwagen naar een ziekenhuis gebracht. Of de man drank of drugs had gebruikt in niet duidelijk. Een berger heeft de zwaar beschadigde wagen afgevoerd.
