Been putting off posting them for ages so I could include their ~animal companion, Nehna, but I've not had that in me lately, so let me get into that later--

Introducing Kuvianak Felasalin - not Dalish, but what the Dalish would call a "follower of the Forgotten Ones". They would prefer to be called Forsaken. (I'll reblog this with my meta on that...)

Had been part of a seabound clan in the South - followers of Daern'thal. Gets recruited into the Wardens after saving a younger clan member from darkspawn in the Korcari Wilds and getting Blighted for their trouble. Not!! Happy!! About it!!

Light of the Elvhenan & Champion of the People"

I hope that everybody likes my newest fan art.

This is how I envisioned Anaris way before the events of Veilguard, when he was the ancient enemy of the Evanuris. Because Anaris was depicted as being arrogant and Mythal claiming that he was "selfish and deviant", I gave him such a look & expression. I based his outfit on a mixture of the in-game graphics, Codex art, & concept art. I know that the antlers are part of Anaris' mask, but they would have gotten in the way of his face, so I decided it would be a cool concept to actually make him have the antlers. Artistic license!

I find Anaris to be a highly fascinating character. He was (still is in Veilguard?) a Forgotten One, so what does that actually mean? I wish that Veilguard expanded more on that...I want to know who they all were. (Maybe a gathering of people who warred against the Evanuris?) Two, he despised the Evanuris and believed them to be cowardly because they used powerful magic & made themselves into "gods". He created the Nadas Dirthalen. Was he truly the "Warlord" that Bellara claimed? (That's when Cyrian had told Bellara that Anaris & the Forgotten Ones were slandered by the Evanuris? Was that true or was it the influcence of Anaris?) What was Anaris afraid of (when Cyrian stated that a fear was consuming Anaris' thoughts). Then there is the story of Anaris coming across Andruil who had been captured by Fen'Harel/Solas & that he wanted to murder Solas because apparently Solas committed crimes against the Forgotten Ones. What is all this history? I want to know!

Also, Anaris has a super awesome, bad-ass character designs! When I recently battled against him, he beat me up & defeated me multiple times since I am playing my 4th run on a super hard mode!

I am thinking of drawing more Evanuris (like I did with Ghilan'nain) and other elven people, how they may have appeared in the past.

Drawn with sepia Sakura Micron Pigma pens, then coloured in with a mixture of Copic Markers, Ohuhu Markers, & Castle Art coloured pencils. White highlights & lines done with a gel pen, and the gold is metallic acrylic paint (which is very shiny in real life...scanners always kills the shine).

Veiltober Day 18 - Anaris

On my current Veilguard playthrough I’ve been collecting any crumbs about the Executors, the Devouring Storm and the Forgotten Ones greedily, like a hungry little mouse. I’m struggling with whether the Executors and the Devouring Storm are related (IE the Devouring Storm is a weapon of the Executors). A few notes:

Those Across the Sea are an ancient enemy. There are codex entries concerning efforts to defend or fight next to them during the time of the Evanuris.

I believe there is a reference to the Forgotten Ones fleeing the continent. John Epler in his AMA confirms that Anaris returned to the Void upon his defeat.

The Fade is often described as a sea. What if the Void is “across the sea”?

Anaris found a substance that devoured magic, building in power and eventually causing an explosion that obliterated people into dust - in her translation Bellara was very clear that he used that word. Anaris needs a body to “find succor in the eye of the storm”. He’s terrified of the Devouring Storm - what if it’s because he found it and knows what it’s capable of?

The Horror of Hormak concerns a substance in a lab belonging to Ghilan’nain that bears some similarities to the substance found by Anaris.

The qunari seem to have been created to fight the Devouring Storm and arrived in Thedas when they were fleeing it. What if they were created by the Forgotten Ones, who abandoned their task, finding safety on the shores of Par Vollen?

Since the Devouring Storm consumes magic, what if that’s why Anaris needs a body? Are the Executors the Forgotten Ones and their followers, who seek to return to Thedas now that their ancient enemies are gone? Side note: I’m convinced Vorgoth is an Executor.

Or, are the Executors what remains of the titans (perhaps the humanoid voices of them that remained after they were sundered?)? If this is the case, that would connect them to the Devouring Storm - they wish to use it to consume the magic of the Fade in recompense for their sundering.

Mythal’s “reckoning that shakes the very heavens” never wound up happening, which is a point of frustration, but what if she never meant that to mean bringing down the veil? What if she has some sort of alliance with the Executors who will act out her vengeance?

I’m running on the theory that the Forgotten Ones are manifested spirits who had their emotion burned away by Elgar’nan.

I’m working on a time travel AU which will position the Executors as the antagonists so I’m trying to get a working theory put together. Solas knows more about the Executors than anyone else, according to the Reddit AMA and he warned Charter that they are dangerous in The Dread Wolf Take You.

After a very long time (I'm sorry) my long fic finally has an update. Only about 5 chapters left for the conclusion of The Theory of Being.

Today marks a year when I posted the first chapter of this story. For one, I never imagined it would grow to be this long. For another, I never imagined how a story about the Forgotten Ones would become a thing for me, that now I have built these worlds and stories around a small group that has a handful of Codex's and a little lore.

Anyway, thanks to anyone and everyone who has liked, commented, read, anything in the world of Isathe and Solas.

Chapter 67: Retribution, Tyranny & Pride Full Story: The Theory of Being

“Do you have a knack for annoying every elvhen god we meet, or do you have to put effort into it?” Neve’s voice came out in quick, panting breaths behind Isathe as they continued through the maze they found themselves trapped in. Despite the situation, Neve could barely hold back that deadpan sarcasm. It permeated her tone, and briefly her expression as Isathe glanced over her shoulder at the Tevinter woman.  The heavy, suffocating weight of the Fade pressed down on their skin, forming a thin layer of sweat as the blood rushed through Isathe’s ears. They were fucked, so incredibly fucked. And Isathe did not know where to go from there. Bellara choked out a laugh in response to Neve as the detective continued, “No. You definitely have a talent for it.”
