Dog's gag warning: Save the carpet!
I think I posted a photo of this before and I know “life hack” is a bit of an aging term, but for cat owners I think this is a good one.
Our cat absolutely loved this little sofa but had gouged both sides of the seat deeply. Any more and it might have come apart, so we wanted to get another.
But I couldn’t find a new one under $28 (Five Below had this one for $12 but no longer). My daughter suggested just adding a cheap thin one on top. You can get those for $4 at Marshalls or Homegoods.
And the cat loves it! Instant acceptance. I had to trim it, but if you cut it to size or slightly larger, it’ll stay in place without glue. And we can flip it or replace it as needed.
Whenever I discover things that makes life easier I gotta share!
My dog has chronic eye issues that I have to clean several time a day (particularly difficult when she has triangular deep set eyes and tries to fight me every time 🙃). These things are much easier to handle and better than digging around in there with tissues and leaving irritating fibres in their eyes. They’re precision cotton swabs for make up - the regular ones also work too but these ones don’t touch their eyes as much.
Not the mention any options made specifically for pets is probably 10 x the price.
If you have dogs like mine, who have to take pills and hiding them in meat and cheese slices doesn’t work. Here’s a good way to hide their medicine
You will need
1 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups flour
A large mixing bowl
And an electric handmixer or a wisk and a rubber spatula
1. Add the peanut butter and milk to the bowl and with an electric mixer or wisk mix them into a smooth batter
2. Mix the flour into the batter 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup at a time. If you don’t have an electric mixer you may have to knead the dough by hand to get all the flour mixed in.
3. Scoop teaspoons or tablespoons of dough (depends on the size of you dog and the size/number of pills you need to put in each treat) and roll them into balls
4. Place the dough balls into a lidded container and place in the fridge
5. Then whenever it’s time for your dog to take it’s medicine you just fold them into one of the balls of peanut butter dough and they’ll scarf em down no problem.
