I dislike how GPNotebook uses 'fetus' and other americanised medical language, given that it is a British website.

I quite like hardcore dance music, but if I have to listen to one more song that is just samples of horror-movie dialogue over a monotonous bass line, I am going to start taking hostages.

Word that makes you cringe when you read/hear it?

For me, it is ‘unfurl.’ Unless related to a flag or a fern, it tends to be shoehorned into verse more often than not. Makes me want to bite my knuckles! What’s your pet hate when it comes to misused - or otherwise - words?

Are you as moody as me?

The Collin’s dictionary describes a pet hate as:

‘a minor annoyance that a person identifies as particularly annoying to them, to a greater degree than it may be to others’

A survey by Good Morning Britain in 2017 revealed queue jumping as the UK’s biggest collective pet hate. 

Rude shop assistants, littering and not being able to connect to the Wi-Fi all featured on the list.

The ever changing world means our personal list of “hates” will naturally increase, or at the very least be regularly amended.

As I write this the following are all sitting at the forefront of my personal inventory:

* people wearing too much fake tan

* middle lane drivers (and those who don’t read the road)

* people who leave their litter

* anyone wearing sunglasses indoors

* super market petrol stations

* late payers (i’m self employed)

* people who don’t clean up after their dog

* cat owners who moan about people who don’t clean up after their dog

* ill thought out traffic lights

* men who walk around town centres with their shirts off

This list is in no way exhaustive but it certainly provides a solid base to build from.

If I were to add people to my list it would start with Donald Trump and include Piers Morgan and Jacob Rees-Mogg but can a person be a pet hate? 

My only argument for being able to include the likes of Trump is the very first thing on my list - fake tan. All in all though, I think people should be removed from such lists and saved for a totally another day.

Airing your grievances is very therapeutic so have a go yourself. Which of mine do you also identify with and what would you put on your list?

PET HATES - Coffee Black

Hey, dear followers! I've no idea if I've built up any kind of good will with any of you over the years, but if there’s any chance I have - and some catchy, jangly British indie pop/rock sounds like in might be in your wheelhouse - I'd really appreciate it if you could check out this song quickly.
