Tumblr ate my ask :( long ask a bit shorter, I've got a bunch of cat whiskers because my cats shed them and my adhd goes ooh weird thing so they're easy to find, would it be safe to use them in magic or would they always be tied back to the cats like human hairs, and is there even anything you can think of that they would be magically useful in (Im thinking maybe a protective spell for the cats?)
You’re gonna laugh - my ADHD does the same thing.
They work great in pet protection spells, in memorial shrines, and as material for creating household guardians, if you want your bitey little thoughtform to be feline.
I have a little wooden shrine where I keep shed whiskers, both as a protection for my living kitties and in remembrance of the old ones.
Magical properties of Catnip
(Nepeta cataria)
Folk Names: Cat, Catmint, Catnep, Catrup, Cat's W ort, Field Balm, Nepeta, Nip
Gender: Feminine
Planet: Venus
Element: Water
Deities: Bast
Powers: Cat Magic, Love, Beauty, Happiness
Magical Uses: Given to your cat, catnip cre- ates a psychic bond between the two of you. It is also intoxicating to the cat.
Catnip is used in love sachets, usually in conjunction with rose petals. If you hold catnip in your hand until it is warm, then hold anyone else's hand; they will forever be your friend, as long as you keep the catnip you used for the spell in some safe place.
Grown near the home or hung over the door, catnip attracts good spirits and great luck. Catnip is also used in spells designed to enhance beauty and happiness.
Large catnip leaves are pressed and used as bookmarks in magical texts.

Hi there!! I hope this isn’t a bother but is there anything you might be able to suggest for healing\protecting a pet? My ferret has been sick for a couple days and I’m doing everything I can to help her with medicine I got from the vet but she still seems weak and sluggish. :( I’ve got an evil eye charm hanging above the cage but is there any magic I could do to protect her from getting worse? I completely understand if you don’t end up responding but you seemed like a good person to ask!
It’s no bother, and I certainly don’t think it’s silly. I have multiple pets, and I am extremely fond of animals in general.
In my experience, when it comes to healing magic (and most magic in general) the more specific information I have on symptomology the better. I can better target and influence what I need to when I can adjust the variables of my casting based on the context of the situation. However, I have used a ‘catch-all’ charm of sorts—for helping to heal illnes and injury while preventing further deterioration—on rats, dogs, and a parrot alike, all to good effect, so I will share it here in the hope that it can be of help to your companion. 🖤

Find an old, dirty sock of yours and place within it; a Green Penny (the greener the better,) along with a clove of Garlic (Allium sativum), a pinch of Poppy seed (Papaver somniferum), and a chunk of Turmeric root (Curcuma longa). Once this has been done, proceed to form a sachet by sewing the sock shut, working your will and prayers into every stitch.
Having completed the construction of the charm pouch, fumigate it using a mixture of Dragon's Blood resin and Cannabis flower, then secure it within your pet’s enclosure. In the case of your ferret, this will probably work best if you hang it from the ceiling of her cage. In the case of animals like cats and dogs, your best bet is probably to make the sachet small enough that you can securely fasten it to their collar. If these options aren't viable due to a likelihood of your animal going after the pouch, then create an altar to your animal using multiple taglocks and keep the sachet there.
Once your pet has recovered, burn the sachet in a fire, making sure not to open it in any way beforehand.
Sigil: this pet doesn't panic during storms
aka "i didn't get to bed till 2 AM but my dog woke me up at 2:30 because she had a terrible time with a storm".
This is meant to supplement the usual things you do to soothe your pet during a storm, not replace them. It kept mine calm enough her usual routine made her fall asleep almost immediately (at least one of us actually got some lol).
Charge by tracing it onto your pet with a finger then petting them, activate with a kiss.
How to Bond with Your Pet Through Magick✨🐕🐈❤
- Create sigils for your pet and trace them in their fur or water bowl - Cleanse their cages, beds, and play structures with crystals, since that is the safest way to cleanse around pets - Avoid using smoke around your pets, along with herbs and oils that may be harmful - let them participate in magick with you by letting them sit with you during tarot or pendulum readings - learn about how animals are associated with magick, for instance, both cats and dogs have very strong psychic energy
