I created a spell yesterday for my kitties and I am very excited with how it turned out.
Octavia and Bellamy are about 6 months old and have started losing their kitten teeth. With such taglocks handy, I decided to do a spell for them for protection, health, and a bit of love. This was a two part spell, because Octavia is my kitty and Bellamy is my roommate’s, so I wanted to focus on my bond with my cat while also doing a generalized protection spell for the two cats.
First, for bonding, I drew a sigil from @sigilathenaeum on a sheet of paper and gave it to Octavia. She’s very curious and I spent a few moments focusing on my intention while she interacted with the sigil (she batted at it for a bit, sniffed it, rubbed her face in it, and then started chewing on it). Once the sigil had been charged with enough intention from the two of us, I folded it and placed it in my cauldron. I then took a bay leaf (protection, bonding, and mental strength) and wrote my name and hers on it and placed it with the sigil. I chose to activate the sigil with fire, and was very pleased when the flames maintained their strength while burning the piece of paper and the bay leaf. I’ve done this before, but this was the first time I got a really good feeling about a spell so quickly.
I used the ashes as the base for my jar spell. After adding them to my jar, I proceeded to add Himalayan rock salt, rose petals, lavender, spearmint, coffee grounds (this is a personal choice, I use coffee in most spells to keep them energized), sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg while remembering and naming their uses and my intention for them in the spell. I then topped off the jar with the kitten teeth, and sealed the jar with two wax colors – white for purity and love, and purple for mental strength and clarity. The spell now sits (out of reach) in the room where we keep the kitten supplies.
NOTE: When working with fire, make sure all possible safety measures have been taken. ALSO, some people have an issue when bonding spells are used on sentient creatures, especially pets, so I just want to say that the bond I have with Octavia has already been formed, I simply wanted to strengthen it magically. I feed her, clean the litter box, and spend time with her every morning before I leave for work, and she follows me around and hangs with me whenever I’m home. This kitty has so much of my heart in her teensy little paws, and I want to protect her in any way I can, hence the spell.
