HEADCANONS. ( NOT ACC. )
blake has always had incredible physical health. the first five years of her life were spent travelling around menagerie, even the desert region where the toughest of faunus survived, even though she was still based on kuo kuana. she had a rich childhood ( not in the material sense ) in that she spent it playing with friends ; spent a lot of time outside, running around, playing games, fishing, climbing, tag, hide and seek, getting into a little trouble. unfortunately, her mental health following the unlocking of her semblance and the deterioration of it through her time in the white fang balances that out. blake regularly takes medicine for suppressing her diagnosed psychosis symptoms, but hides this fact and is ashamed of letting anyone know. if blake starts acting up and gets exponentially erratic and vicious ( like she was in volume two ) it probably means she’s stopped taking her medication, as it makes her drowsy and less alert.

‘ruby.’ coco bangs on the doorway a bit to grab her attention, since saying her name three times in succession apparently isn’t enough. she’s trying not to let the pity show on her face, but she’s also starting to feel like a wind up doll that’s been cranked too many times. fight, cry, practice, eat dinner, throw some jokes around, repeat. toss in some general angsting and you’ve got a recipe for teenage girl disaster.
long story short, it’s not easy. and if she’s struggling, then coco can’t imagine how ruby’s feeling, poor girl. coco’s actually not sure who she hates more: salem, for being...salem, or ozpin and qrow for, you know. not protecting these kids and generally being bad at adulting.
‘kiddo, it’s okay. i can take it from here, if you want.’ coco pauses, thinks about all the times she got pitying looks after the festival, thinks about how much she hated every second of it, then amends. ‘or we can patrol together. if you, uh, don’t mind the company.’
