So another new idea is that if Cinder actually is dead

(which I really don’t want to believe because there is so much background we still need from her TToTT)

buuuuut, the only people I can see Cinder thinking of in her final moments are, Salem, Emerald, and Ruby. (and I’m knocking Salem and Ruby off the list for the sheer op-ness that would cause) and so we’re left with Emerald! which plays in nicely with that little it of dialogue we got from her about Cinder <3

Oh, there was that dangerous look that spread across Emerald’s face.The one that threatened to spill the moment of embarrassment to everyone she knew and more.

“Your secret is safe with me.” And her tone of barely held back laughter, a face splitting grin pulling her cheeks up, did not offer much comfort either.

If Nora expected Emerald to hold her tongue, to take her at face value, then that was her own mistake in the thief’s mind. Seeing the huntress-to-be fumble and fail was one thing but to have her turn, red faced, and in a low grumble demand never to talk of this again--

A pinky finger was held out, Emerald’s grin only growing. “Promise.” Those words would be broken in record time but some people were naive and held sentiment in them. That, too, was their own damn fault but hell, did it make it easier to win over the gullible.
