How does one deal with putting an animal down? Especially a kitten? My baby Banshee was put down on Easter and it’s the most crushing thing I’ve ever had to deal with. It feels like I’m never going to recover. I know it was what was best for her...she was so sick...but it feels awful knowing I’m not going to come home to her or that she’s just gone. It hurts so much I can’t do it...

Fishblr I need help! My boy beaker has developed this black spot on both sides of his tail.

I’ve been staying at my dad’s house for a couple weeks and my mom has been taking care of him, I know that she’s been feeding him responsibly but she may have missed a few water changes. I haven’t had time to test the water as I was only at her house for a short time today, does anybody know what this might be?

His tail looks strange because it’s regrow after he used to bite it before I started to buffer the filter with a sponge. My mom tells me that in the past week she actually changed the filter cartridge instead of just rinsing it off, which I thought I had told her why she’s not supposed to do that but I guess she forgot. Because of that, the only thing I can think of that might be going on here is that the cycle broke and it’s causing whatever this might be.

I’ve had beaker for around 9 months, the only health problem he’s ever had was fin-biting and he stopped doing that once I buffered the filter flow with a filter sponge.

Does anybody know what this might be? I want to help him before it gets any worse. When I checked on him today (same time I took the pictures) he seemed a bit fatigued, he was only using his pectoral fins to swim and wasn’t using his tail at all. Although he did flare at me and at the camera like he usually does, so that gives me alittle bit of hope.

Any advice is welcome! I’m gonna tag a few fishblr people because I need to know what might be going on here.

anyone have experience in moving with exotic pets? I'll be moving from Florida to Texas sometime this year and all the animals are coming with me. It's about a 12 hour drive without any stops, but we'll most likely be stopping along the way since we have 2 cars and all the animals. Looking for tips for reptiles, amphibians, fish, and small mammals. Really don't want to ship the animals unless it's absolutely necessary. Thanks guys 💓

ADVICE NEEDED: This is not my bird, it is a friends bird. I have been going to their house for a few months and did not know they had a budgie. He his a VERY small cage, (maybe a little more than 1 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot). They apparently got him around 2 months ago. He (apparently they are sure he is a he, but I don't see how that's possible since they didn't know what a budgie is.) He is alone, in a small cage. They apparently let him out for long periods of time unattended, in a house that hasn't been budgie proofed (pot laying around, electrical cords, trash, etc) but every time I've been there he's been stuck in his cage, which is shoved under a coffee table. He has no toys and eats nothing but millet and sunflower seeds. They frequently smoke pot around him (MULTIPLE times a day), and I'm very concerned for his physical and mental wellbeing. How's he doing now? He is an extremely friendly, extremely sweet little budgie. Today was my first time around him, he hopped right onto my finger, sat politely on my shoulder, played with toys I gave him, and LOVES cuddles. He loves his cheekies scritched and the top of his head, and he will gladly preen you right back. He likes kisses (giving and receiving) and is over all just an absolute sweetheart who loves people, and needs a lot more care than he is getting. I know a moderate amount about birds, but I have never kept one, because I know what a big responsibility it is. I don't know if I can convince his owner (friends roommate) to give him to me, and I doubt I could take him if she would without some planning. But other than advising a bigger cage, smoking elsewhere, etc... I'm not sure what I can do to help him. I'm thinking of buying some toys for him, but the thing is, there's already so little space in his cage I don't want to get too much and overcrowd him. I'm just really worried about him, and want to make sure he's alright. He's not mine, so I'm limited in what I can do. But as an animal advocate and someone passionate about educating people about the animals they keep, I can't do nothing. Please, any budgie/bird blogs with more specific advice, I would really appreciate the help.

We've had this hamster at petco for nearly seven months and I'm thinking about adopting him out since we're giving him away for free to whoever wants him. Do his eyes look messed up though? They don't have any gunk in them, but he never opens them that much. He's still active, likes to burrow.

Bearded dragon question

I’ve seen a lot of people posting about their beardless flipping on their backs and people saying it’s weird and probably a song of illness. I don’t own a bearded dragon yet but I want to learn the most I can about them and I’m wondering, what are the reason a bearded dragon could flip on his back?
