"Ugh," you groaned as your alarm blasted in your shared bedroom, your back pressed into your boyfriend. You and Peter were adjusting well to being quarantined in your house for days on end. The lifestyle was beginning to become a new normal for you.
"That's what you get for signing up for early morning classes," Peter stated, his sound muffled as his half-sleeping face pressed into (you) his personal pillow.
You reached out to turn off the blaring alarm on your phone, then attempting to get up right before Peter pulled you back to his frigid body.
"Stay," he mumbled into your bare shoulder. "You're so warm."
"And your ice-cold," you replied, as Peter sleepily pressed soft kisses along your upper back. "Pete, I've gotta go get ready."
Peter nuzzled deeper into your body, "No, you don't. You can stay in bed all day with me."
"May I remind you that you've got things to do as well, Spiderman." You explained as you turned to face his resting body, his hands finding their new resting place on your hips.
"No, I dropped my 9 am Monday class, remember?" he murmured. “And besides, last night, I was up until 5 patrolling the city.”
With his eyes remaining shut, Peter scoffed as he pulled you in closer to his body, “Baby, I have to get ready. We can cuddle all you want after I finish with class.”
You put both your hands to his face, holding both his cheeks in the palms of your hands. His eyes then peered open slowly. “Ahh, that’s pushing it.”
His face looked almost as if you had kicked a puppy, Peter's lips curving into a frown as a playful smirk displayed across your face. "I'm just messing around, you big baby."
"I still need to go grocery shopping for the week after I finish with class. You want anything?"
"Let me." He yawned, nuzzling his head into the curve of your neck. "I'll go grocery shopping while you're doing school work."
Eyes narrowed, Peter pulled out from your neck, attempting to glare at you, "I’m kidding! Someone’s grumpy this morning.”
He turned his body opposite of yours, grabbing more of your shared covers and pulling them over his body as his pout remained on his angered expression. You, however, rolled your eyes at his immaturity before sitting up against your bed’s headboard.
“If you do choose to go, there’s a list on the fridge with everything we need.”
You leaned over to Peter, brushing the dangling brown curls from his face before kissing one of his freckled cheeks. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” He groaned, pulling the blanket further over his messy brown curls.
After allowing the steam of your hot shower to wash away the tiredness that remained in your half-awake body, you were hard at work. Listening to your professor's yap about physics for the next couple of hours wasn't exactly entertaining, but the lectures went by rather quickly.
Now, you were sitting in your shared office space and finishing up the work assigned for the week.
While typing, your eyes glanced down at the clock reading at about half-past three. Peter had left a couple of hours ago, making you start to worry. He was so forgetful sometimes that you hoped he would have gotten at least half of the things right on your long list.
Three sharp knocks interrupted your typing mid-sentence, urging you to glance up from your computer screen and to your office door. “Come in!”
“Hey,” you announced, seeing half of Peter’s tired body slump in the doorway with his glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose. “You were gone for so long I was beginning to worry.”
“I’m exhausted,” he huffed, walking over to your desk area. “You would think with being in a pandemic, stores wouldn’t be so crowded.”
“Stopped by Delmars on the way home to get us lunch,” he stated as he placed your usual sandwich order on the desk. The savory scent coming from the pickles and cheese melted in between the soft bread of the sandwich was filling your nostrils. “I made sure to get everything you wanted.”
“Thank you, baby.” You smiled, feeling your heart swell at his thoughtfulness.
Lazily, Peter’s chin found a new place on your shoulder, his eyes staring at the screen in front of you. “What are you working on?”
“My review paper due Thursday.” You explained, running your hand closest to him through slightly unkempt hair.
“Well, are you almost done? Cause I’m exhausted and don’t want to nap alone.”
“Who knew Spiderman had severe nap separation anxiety?” You joked before he grew very annoyed at your comment.
I guess promising to cuddle isn’t something Peter would exactly forget. “Don’t you have some paperwork from Mr. Stark you can finish while you're waiting?”
“Yeah, but the paperwork can wait, and this can’t.” Peter muffled as he pressed soft kisses along your neck. "You work so hard Y/N, take a break."
"If this is your way of buttering me up, it isn’t working.” You laughed as you began typing again on your keyboard, his sweet kisses making you giggle as you continued to work. “I’ll be done soon. In the meantime, find something else to cling to.”
“Fine,” he sighed, pushing his glasses further on the bridge of his nose before leaving the room looking deflated. You did feel bad the tiniest bit, for Peter exited looking almost as if he were a saddened puppy, but surely he would have found something to keep himself occupied until you would lie down with him.
Making its way across the city, the sun’s vibrant yellow rays now poured through your office window, reflecting luminously as you finished up the remaining sentences on your schoolwork. Your fingers and bottom were mildly numb from all the hard work you had dedicated to finishing this essay.
When you were all done, you stood from your chair to stretch your sore limbs before looking to find your boyfriend. Exiting the office, you looked in each room down the apartment hallway for Peter.
“Peter, I’m all done-” you announced before finding a body leaned into the corner of the living room couch.
With his laptop open beneath him and paperwork displayed across the screen, Peter’s cheek was pressed deeply into the arm of the sofa as soft snores left his lips. His glasses were slowly being pushed off of his face from his sideways position as he slept, causing you to watch in awe, and not wanting to wake your tired boyfriend.
Gently, you moved in the space next to him, removing his laptop from his lap and draping a fuzzy blanket across his sleeping body. In his sleep, he nuzzles deeper within the new covering, pulling the blanket closer to his chest, or so you thought.
You froze as you saw much stirring coming from Peter, causing you to attempt to move into the other room. “No,” he murmured, gripping your lower arm loosely. “Stay. You made a promise, remember?”
“I guess finishing paperwork didn’t go as planned?” You laughed, watching him slowly peel back his eyelids while remaining in his curled position.
“Just leave me alone and hold me.”
You pulled his glasses away from his face before Peter got comfortable against your chest. His hair was messily sprawled against your collarbone as he wrapped one of his long arms around your waist.
Gently, you ran your hand delicately along his covered back, his body still as you leaned your head in close to his ear. “I should get started on dinner for the two of us.”
His grip tightened at your comment, holding you and the blanket draped across him close. “Yeah, no, dinner can wait.”
