Of course she had not paid attention to the weather report this morning and now she was trapped inside a museum, it was not like she had not been in worse situation before but it was irritating nonetheless, she looked at her watch and sighed, she could not leave since her car was at the repairs from a previous investigation and the bus had already left. Sarah thought about her son Luke, who had spent the weekend at Clyde’s and would not be home before tomorrow, so she was not in a hurry to get home. As she gazed around her surroundings, she saw several people, some with umbrellas, some in cover like herself and a bunch of teenagers whom a run for it. Sarah started to reminisce her travels through time and space with a old dear friend of hers and her adventures with not only UNIT but as her thought turned to also her friends; Natalie Redfern, Ellie Martin, Maude, Josh Townsend. She became sad since she had lost touch to most of them. She had tried to explain to Natalie what she had experience with The Doctor and UNIT, but somehow could not do it, she was not ready, and she thought that neither were they, Natalie said she understood and hoped that one day Sarah would tell them. But how could she? They would probably deem her mad and leave her. Then her thoughts came to her parents and how much she wanted to tell them what she had been through but there was not any time for it since the Trickster had to be stopped. Oh, how she missed Harry, He would understand, and he would be able to lift her up again. Of course, she still had Luke, Clyde, Maria, and Rani, but there were still things in life that they would not understand yet, beside Maria and her dad had moved to America and Rani was probably busy with her homework. The Brigadier was off on a mission so she could not contact him either.
She sighed as she blamed it to her awful day before being startled by a sound coming from behind her. “I’m so sorry Miss. Smith, I didn’t want to frighten you.” A familiar voice apologized, she looked around and saw a handsome face. “Oh, it’s alright I was far away.” “I could see that; may I ask where you were?” he chuckled. She looked away “I guess it’s just one of those days, Mr Dalton.” She replied as she brushed it off. “Please call me Peter” she smiled up at him “Peter… Then you must call me Sarah Jane.” He smiled back at her that somehow made the day a bit better. “I can see you haven’t an umbrella, you can come under mine then I can walk you to your car.” Peter offered. “Oh no my car is at the repairs; I just wait till the rain is over then I go catch the tube home.” Peter shook his head “No, I’ve a better idea, why don’t I drive you home?” “No, it’s alright, you must be busy.”
“I’m not, it’s my day off today and I would not miss the opportunity to drive a lovely lady home.” The compliment came to a surprise which she made her smile “alright.” So they went out together under on umbrella on a rainy day.
