Buddy No. 81, dated 28 August 1982. Tuffy cover, artist might be Peter Foster. Below, news of a great new strip next week!
Below Leo Sayer, drawn by Brian Delaney, shows up in Buddy's Super Personality Series! More Than I Can Say was a No.2 hit for Leo in 1981. It was written by two members of The Crickets in 1959 and was a hit for Bobby Vee in 1961. It was also said to have been performed on stage by The Beatles circa 1961/1962 but no recordings are known to survive. I can believe this as several members of The Beatles were known to be fans of Buddy Holly (and The Crickets) and Paul McCartney later ended up buying the publishing rights to Holly's songs.

It’s Monochrome Monday ❤️
Sam is photographed on a night out, and is then spotted later that evening getting romantic with Peter Foster.
When Sam later found out Peter Foster is an Australian career criminal with convictions for fraud and money laundering, she quickly distanced herself from him. Some years later in an interview about their relationship she said:-
“I’m old enough now to know that I'd never be taken in again by the likes of Peter Foster. But then, I was 22 and impressionable. My parents had split and here was a man who was clever, manipulative and domineering. I came close to marrying him because I was so vulnerable.”
