America is blessed with stunning vistas, wide open praries, majestic mountains, and an incredibly expansive geography. So traveling outside of its borders can seem like a luxury. Which is why, Americans that do travel are seen as the fortunate few. And when those lucky enough to make it a habit to venture out of their comfort zones and into the unknowns actually share their experiences in elegant and eloquent ways, they move people to see the world differently.
Such is the case with my incredible husband, Travel Journalist Peter Guttman and his annual slide show party. Yes, National Public Radio called it one of the "hottest ticket in New York," the New York Times said the "stunning images" of the "hugely attended and widely anticipated show" is "like no other slide show ever seen before," and Fine Living television network reported the slide show "a life changing experience."
Yet, what really matters to him is inspiring people to go out and explore their backyards, their states, their country, and the world. And, that's what so many who have been to our party have done. One couple traveled the world for a year and home-schooled their children after coming to the event, another changed his career, and still others have written bucket lists that they've actually started to check off.
May you head out into the great or the small unknown -- be careful though as it might just change your perspective forever.
