I posted this on my twt hours ago but it's still in my head so I'm posting here for some input, because feelings.
Anyway so I'm still stuck on Song of Achilles. In the Odyssey, Odysseus sees Achilles in the underworld, so if you continue to weave the book with the rest of the myth. Does Achilles ask where Petroclus is? Does Odysseus tell him how Petroclus' name wasn't engraved on his monument because his son refused?
Please tell me I'm not the only one who imagines that part of the Odyssey as a part of the story of the afterlife for Petrochilles. Like Achilles finds out what happened and knows they will meet again so he isn't just wandering blankly and lost. That he id waiting & the is why they find each other immediately at the end of the book. I need to know I'm not alone in this, and that this is a general consensus for those who have read the book. Also if there are fics about this, I'd love to read it.
