Rin loves puzzles - mostly she prefers to play by herself, so things like sudoku, logic puzzles and brain teasers are right up her alley. She's also tried out multiple strategy games like chess and shogi, and even go a few times. She's not a top player but she's skilled enough to be a decent challenge. More than that, however, she has a lot of little facts and random things memorized, as she is prone to falling down Wikipedia rabbit holes, so she's an excellent person to take along with you for trivia night.

Rin is often the member of the group who provides a listening ear and advice when her friends are down or troubled. She has a warm presence that easily manages to calm Utsuro when he has a panic attack at the beginning of the story. She's a quiet person, and always has a bit of an analytical quality to her, but she's also quite open with subtle affections - she readily gives hugs, tends to sit pressed shoulder to shoulder with a friend having a rough time in order to ground them, and always carefully considers her words when asked her opinion. That said, she generally prefers to give affection on her terms and doesn't like it when people get clingy with her or invade her space without permission, with the exception of Tsukiko.
