Wrangled with Brio and Reshade and got this:
Then I started wondering if it could be done with vanilla on my PS5:
(Don't mind the posters, I put everything up in my FC room because I don't put up posters in my IRL room)
Which got me this- oh wait, everyone did it nakey. Fine.
I can probably get a narrower line if I use two slats, but that requires more crafting and gathering than I currently have patience for. We'll see.
Tl;dr is yes it can be done on vanilla. Just needs more effort because you need a room and a space to make a studio with ingame lights and wooden slat partitions.
