“Umm...who are you?” Junwon questioned, staring at the older woman in front of him.
Her face had contorted from a smile to a look of horror as she stared back at him. She looked him up and down. Junwon looked down at the gift bag in her hand, still wondering who she was.
“Junwon, whose at the door?” You questioned from the hall. You sluggishly stood up, walking over to the door, yawning slightly. Your hair all over your head, and a complete mess. You were dressed in shorts and one of his shirts. Your makeup was slurred, hickies decorated either side of your neck, collarbone and your thighs.
You rubbed your eyes, standing next to Junwon to see who was standing at the door as he didn’t answer. Your eyes widened as your eyes met the woman’s eyes.
Junwon put his hand out, “Hi, I’m Junwon, I’m her boyf―”
“ROOMMATE! We were roommates. Junwon’s my room. He helps me pay for this apartment,” You covered up, as you slammed your hand over his mouth with a nervous laugh, “We sometimes play like we’re dating so people don’t hit of us. You know?”
Junwon looked to you with a confused look. Why were you lying, he thought. You uncovered his mouth, inviting your mother inside, taking her bags, “Mom, you have quite a lot of bags. Are you staying for a while?”
“What are you talking about? I’m staying just for a day. Some of that stuff is for you,” She explained.
“Of you shouldn’t have,” You gave a nervous smile.
Your mother turned to Junwon, bowing slightly to him as he had done the same as her.
“It’s nice to meet you, Junwon. Though I do not fully approve of my daughter having a male roommate, I suppose I don’t have much of a say,” She confessed.
“Yeah, roommate,” Junwon said, looking to you with a glare before back to your mother, “It’s nice to meet you too...Miss...”
“(Mother’s Name). Just call me M/N,” Your mother smiled, “So, Junwon. Tell me...what do you do?”
You cleared your throat loudly, causing your mother’s eyes to snap over to you, “Y/N, sweetheart, are you okay?”
“Uh...y-yeah. I’m fine. Mom, let me lead you to the room you can sleep in while you are here.”
You led your mother to the guest room, helping her unpack. A little after, the two of you had caught up for a few minutes before Junwon had joined the two of you.
Hours had passed, Junwon spending several hours conversating with your mother. You were happy that the two of them were getting along, but you were still worried.
When she fell asleep tonight, you would have to explain to Junwon why you had hidden your relationship from her and lied.
And it had become that time. Your mother had gone to sleep earlier, leaving you and Junwon alone in the kitchen. You leaned against the kitchen counter, looking to him. You had noticed the sad expression on his face.
“Junwon,” You started, “Let me explain.”
You blinked, “What? No. What makes you say th―” You started.
He interrupted you, “You lied you your mom about us, telling her we were roommates. I didn’t know you didn’t tell your family about us. The only reason I could think you would hide us from them is that you’re embarrassed of me.”
“I’m not embarrassed by you, Junwon. I love you. You’re my world, my heart, my soul, my everything. It’s just...my family wouldn’t understand.”
“Understand what?” He questioned, turning to you revealing his tears.
You had hated when he cried. You walked over to him, wiping away the tears, “They wouldn’t understand why I love you like I do. My family wouldn’t understand what I see in you. They wouldn’t get you’re right for me, even though I know you are. You’re a bit older than me, you’re a rapper...your friends are bad news.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling your body closer to his with a small smile.
“What’s wrong with my friends?” He asked with a small giggle.
You rolled your eyes, “You know what’s wrong with your friends.” He allowed his arms to wrap around your waist. You continued, “The reason I didn’t tell my family about you yet is because I knew they wouldn’t approve. But after today, I don’t care if they don’t approve. I love you and I know you are the one for me.”
The two of you leaned into each other for a kiss, only to hear the sound of someone clearly their throat behind them. You let out a scream, unraveling your arms from his neck, pulling away from him as he had did to you.
Leaning against the wall was your mother with a smile that had mimicked yours from just a second ago, “You weren’t really hiding it. It was kind of obvious from the bruises on your neck and the awkward sexual tension.”
