Novel concept
Pharmacies, like many other industries, are having supply chain problems. There are medications we’re having difficulty getting. We do what we can with it, sometimes requesting a new medication from a doctor, sometimes referring them to a competitor with better luck than us.
Most people understand.
This lady did not.
After finding out her prescription is backordered because our suppliers can’t get it, she suggests that we simply rotate stock - sell 4 bottles, get 4 more bottles in.
IF IT WAS THAT FUCKING SIMPLE WE’D ALREADY BE DOING IT
I relay that to her - in friendlier terms - and she threatens to go to our competitor who is also having trouble getting that medication, we already know because we called them. I tell her that they’re having problems with it too.
She again suggests we just order enough to give to customers.
At this point I just hung the phone up because there’s only so much stupid I can handle in a given morning. Mercifully, she did not call back.
I had hoped that people would be smarter working in a pharmacy vs. a restaurant. Hope was my first mistake. -J
