It’s thanks to Har that I was able to accept not only that I was both ace (something that everyone else in my life had dismissed before then) and gay rather than bi. Just like Dan, I had kept that label as “armor” because I was afraid of that scary G-word and faced a lot of homophobia as a child. I came out to my parents just this year, and it was because I wanted them to know about her. My gay story started before I met my gf, but I am who I am today because of her. In Dan’s words:

happy pride to all you guys, gals and non-binary pals 🌈 i may not be able to be out and proud to everyone but in my inner circles irl and online i am able to be as authentically me as possible for now. one day i have hope that i’ll be able to be 100% me and not hold back, because that’s what everyone deserves, happiness! dnp have helped me feel accepted and they have created this community that makes me feel loved and supported every day. thank you guys for believing in me. finally, dan has helped me realize that i can let go of the labels and just be ME!! of course this is a challenge, but it is a challenge i am willing to take. because i want to be happy, and i want to be me 💜 i love you all and happy pride! 🏳️‍🌈

i came out to my parents and friends over a year ago and things have been ok. i have parents who dont really agree but love me anyway and some of the most supportive friends on the planet. and ive been dating the most amazing girl for the last 4 months.

ive been a part of the phandom for 2 years, so ig im kind of a baby lol

i fucking love these meetups, seeing how positive the phandom can be sometimes and i enjoy seeing all of yalls wonderful faces or whatever you chose to post :)

Everything's coming up aces, and I couldn't be more excited now to be out, loud, and proud about it!

I've been pretty open about it with my closest phandom friends for awhile, but I've never told anyone in my day to day life... This week, riding the high of Dan's video and all the love and support in the phandom, I said the words "I'm ace" out loud for the very first time and opened up to a friend at work!

last year i painted a rainbow on my face, but today i think im gonna be slightly less extra im closeted and have to leave soon rip

im jackie and im bisexual.

its been really hard for me to say that bc i first identified as bi when i was like 12 but came out as a lesbian a little under two years ago. it kinda feels weird to go back and say "so false alarm guys! i actually am bisexual!" but here we are.

im bisexual, and u know what? im fucking proud. it doesn't matter that my family would be far more accepting of me being a lesbian than me being bi, bc im still valid. it doesnt matter that itd be so much easier for me to accept being a lesbian, because im bi and valid. its taken a long while to get to this point but here we are.

being in the phandom, a community with so so many queer people, honestly helps a ton when it comes to accepting my sexuality. i wanna thank dnp for making that community
