The Phantom Tide day 29: As soon as the fight ended, Eileen's condition began to worsen, a cloud of blood trailing upwards from where the Phantom Tide had stabbed her. I felt helpless; an injury this severe had to be cauterized, a task impossible to perform underwater. All I could do was cradle Eileen in my arms and make amends, "I never should've tried to get revenge. All I did was make things worse. I'm sorry," Eileen leaned close to me and whispered, "Never forget me, my tin soldier." I cringed and bowed my head; I had beaten the Phantom Tide, yet was about to lose everything. - From the corner of my eye, I saw a figure stand up behind me. Was the ghost still alive? I whipped my head around, expecting to see his snarling face and glowing eyes, but instead exchanged glances with an ornate, gentlemanly figure. He was dressed in fine white linens, sported a trimmed beard that sparkled, and looked like a younger, kinder version of the Phantom Tide. - With a bow, the pleasant ghost spoke, "Thank you, diver man, you have saved me from an awful and terrible fate. I was doomed to haunt the seas for an eternity, and I frankly lost my way. Then you quite literally knocked my sense back into me!" He smiled and tapped a bruise on his head. "As a token of my goodwill, I can grant you one wish before I return to the great beyond." - Eileen perked up, "Did you hear that? You can wish for your life back, for your ship to be repaired! You can finally go home." She coughed again, struggling to smile as she winced from pain. I glanced from her to the repentant Phantom Tide. I knew what I had to do. - #inktober #inktober2016 #inktober2go #thephantomtide #phantomtide #ghost #pirate #diver #eel #wish #threewishes #3wishes #genie
