Hi can I request headcanons of Sombra and Pharah's long time s/o (preferably gender neutral) wanting children with them? Thanks :)
To anyone who needs to hear it: There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to have kids! There’s also nothing wrong with wanting to have kids! If you’re in a relationship where one person desperately wants kids (which is okay!!) and the other knows that they will truly never want kids (perfectly fine!!), coming to some compromise (not sure what that’d be but) is great but if you can’t and such an aspect starts turning the relationship sour, I know it’s hard but it might be a good idea to consider that you two are just on different paths in your lives.
~~~
Sombra
N a h
She’s not the mother type
With her line of work? Absolutely not
Not even just because of that; she just doesn’t want kids
Regardless of whether the two of you have been together for a long time or not
Tbh, it’s probably something you guys have talked about before, with the same result
If it’s something that ends up throwing a kink into the relationship and eventually it gets to a point where you need to find someone with the same wishes, so be it
That’s just something that’s not going to change for her
She’ll be a little sad but she understands; her way of life isn’t for very many people
That being said
She might be willing to raise a pet baby with you if you’re down
Would still take a little convincing but that’s about as close to having kids that you’ll get with her
Pharah
Fareeha’s a family woman
She’d love to have kids someday
Someday being the keyword
Her work life is already so busy and hectic, she doesn’t want to bring a kid into the world only to leave it alone for long periods of time
She’s got a decent chunk of her life left to relax and have kids
She can’t have kids of her own, but she’s fine with that
She’s always preferred the idea of adopting anyway
Wants a bigger family with multiple kiddos
Would also love to just foster kids
She’d probably suggest fostering before adopting, honestly, just to get a feel for it and to make sure that it is something both of you would want
Someday, though, she’d love to have a couple or so gremlins running around
Ask: Hello! Welcome back my friend! I have just a short request if you don’t mind, can you do a short piece where Pharah is comforting her s/o who just had a nightmare?
a/n: of course my friend!! And thank you!
Warning: mentions of blood and dead bodies
...
God it was never-ending, all that blood. All the mangled up bodies, and the way that you kept running but never far enough. Like Alice you fell down the rabbit hole sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss of your dreams. It was terrifying, making you feel sick to your stomach. Is it real? It feels really. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
"(Name)! (Name)! Wake up!" You heard someone call you, dragging you from your mind and back into your bed. "Shhhh, its ok. It was just a dream." Fareeha whispered in your ear as she held you close. Your chest heaved, when did you start crying? Still in a daze from your dream, you gripped on to her like you'd be sucked back and she was your only lifeline.
"You're ok." She whispered, laying back down with you cradled in her arm. Sniffling, you could feel your body and mind calm. Your face felt puffy and your nose still ran even though you had stopped crying a while ago. "You feeling ok?" She asked, tracing her thumb over your face. "Yeah, it was just a dream."
Yeaaa boiiiiii, although I’m 700% gay for Ana so I had to resist the urge to shift the prompt focus. No pronouns so gender neutral here. Enjoy! ☕️
“You’ll be fine.”
“She’s a sniper, Fareeha,” you said, checking the building rooftops around you. “She can kill me before I even know she’s taken aim! There’s a reason they called her Horus.”
Even so, there were uglier places to get sniped by your girlfriend’s mother. Bordeaux was a lovely city, its Gothic architecture and brick like a fairytale come to life. The air smelled like grass and fresh bread, April sunshine warming the cobbles just enough to be pleasant.
You and Pharah had been an item for little more than a year.
You met her at a Helix fundraiser, your PR agency assigning you to write about the event for their client. It was boring—a bunch of uptight soldiers extolling their performance in an endless procession of speeches and medals.
You left once you’d gotten your scoop, hurrying out the back door before anyone could realize there was a tray of choux puffs missing.
Ducking into a nearby cafe, you alternated between jotting a draft and eating pastries from your bag when a 5'11" goddess in Helix blue sat across from you. Her shoulders were studded with medals, eyes rimmed with kohl painted in a Horus pattern.
Afraid you’d been busted, you held the open bag out to her.
“If you’re here for the cream puffs, I surrender,” you’d said, taking a sip of your tea. Pharah looked between you and the bag, confusion on her face.
“I’m here for you. It seems I’ve found the only other person who hates award ceremonies more than I do.” She took a few puffs, brow raised. You smiled at your new partner in crime. She was imposing and gorgeous—skin deep brown, hair jet black, no-nonsense air evident in the way she moved.
And here she was, eating cream puffs with you. Realizing this was some sort of oddball, pseudo first date, you smiled. “I’m _______.”
She smiled mischievously, brown eyes glittering under the low cafe lights. “Fareeha.”
Now, you were on your way to meet her mother, renowned sniper and Overwatch legend, Ana Amari. You knew she and Pharah had a falling out some time ago about Ana faking her own death, but it seems they were trying to make amends.
Ana regularly texted Pharah about her day, though your girlfriend rarely mentioned you. At first, you thought it was out of embarrassment, though you knew better now.
Fareeha didn’t trust her. A week ago Ana sent you both a text, never explaining how she’d found your number.
“________, Fareeha—I’m traveling to Bordeaux for a meeting with the Overwatch council. Would you care to join me for tea? You don’t have to stay long, but I’d like to meet the person my daughter loves enough to keep from me.”
The two of you decided to take her up on the offer, using some ample time off you’d accrued.
“I told you to stay out of her personnel file—it’ll only freak you out,” Pharah said, guiding you through the crowd.
You rolled your eyes. “Meeting parents is never easy. I always get all…twitchy.”
“Don’t worry—my mother knows better than to try anything with me there,” she said, squeezing your waist. There was such determination in her voice you wondered if you’d have to play intermediary.
“Besides, you’re not planning on breaking my heart are you,_______?”
“Never,” you said, gently kissing her cheek.
Up ahead you spotted the bakery, saw the wealth of delicious pastry in the window and the cute tables set up outside.
You also saw a hawk-like woman poised at one of the tables, long white braid draped over her black blazer and red shirt. She pretended to take a sip, though her amber eye snapped to you, then Pharah as you neared.
Deciding to head off any awkward greetings, you waved and led the way.
“You must be Ana,” you said, extending a hand. She glanced at it, then at you, shrewd smile on her face. “I’m _________. Nice to meet you.”
“Bold move, getting the ‘hello’ part out of the way. I see why you like them, Fareeha,” Ana said, shaking your hand with a firm grip.
“Mother—”
“Relax, child, I’m only joking. Now, how about you get your poor lover something to eat? They look hungry.“
Pharah looked at you for confirmation you’d be alright. You nodded, then asked her for a latte and a plate of macarons. She left, hair charms and leather jacket buckles jingling all the way. Once she was gone, you turned back to Ana, ready for rapid-fire inquiry.
It never came. You winced, toying with the paper napkin and waiting for it to hit.
“You love my daughter.” It wasn’t phrased as a question, and you didn’t have to think about the answer.
Since she’d entered your life, Pharah awakened the care and passion you often hid away for your job. Objectivity went out the window, the two of you finding joy in even the smallest things—mandatory Chinese takeout and 90s shows on her Thursdays off from sentry duty, a funny note scribbled on the fridge whiteboard.
She was so much more than the protector persona she donned for work.
You knew her favorite ice cream (chocolate cardamom), the thing she liked least about Helix (their new slushfund for covert ops) and what she hoped for most (a pharaoh hound and an apartment outside the city).
“Yes, very much.”
“Well, she adores you—trusts me enough to behave, and thinks you’re strong enough to withstand her villainous mother,” Ana snorted, taking another sip of tea.
If Pharah looked anything like Ana when she got older, you were all too lucky.
Every movement was laced with elegance—from her knowing smirk to the flick of her wrist as she straightened out the bracelets on her hand. She was even effortless while adjusting her eyepatch, shifting it so the tiny scarred portion was instantly covered up.
“That’s an exaggeration,” you said, glancing inside at Pharah. She was at the counter, picking out what looked like at least 12 macarons and 2 croissants. Your stomach grumbled in anticipation.
“You lied to her, let her grieve, yes. But she doesn’t see you as a villain, Ana. She just wants to know you’re back for good this time.”
For all her posturing and sly quips, Ana seemed hurt by the rift between herself and her daughter.
Pharah sat you down and told you everything. What you couldn’t tell from her side of the story was how sincerely regretful she was.
Sitting across from you, Ana Amari looked hollow. Without warning, she flipped the patch up so you could see the jagged scar tissue where her eye had been. It was sad, but not nearly as gruesome as you’d anticipated.
“I wanted to protect her from this,” she said quietly, watching Pharah inside the bakery. “Talon came after me something fierce, _________. She’s my girl—there’s no way I could have come out of hiding if I thought she was in danger for a second.”
“You love your daughter,” you said, smiling softly at her.
“Very much.”
There was a bitterness in the way she polished off her drink, swallowing hard like she wished it was liquor. Against all common sense, you reached out to her, if only to assure her you understood. You gave her fingers a quick squeeze, ignoring her surprise.
“She loves you too, Ana—that much hasn’t changed. Sure, she may be a little uneasy, but she still has all your pictures on the walls, even keeps the one in your Overwatch uniform above the fireplace. Give her a little time and I promise she’ll reach out.”
“Fareeha said all that?“
You shook your head, watching as Pharah made her way out of the bakery back to your table.
Turning to Ana, you winked. “She doesn’t have to. I love her, remember?”
The rest of your brunch went well, with you munching on lavender macarons and Pharah chattering about the goings on at Helix. To your delight, the Amaris kept things civil, neither venturing near the hot-button topics.
Ana kept her eyepatch off and you chimed in with crazy client stories whenever there was a lull. All the while Ana’s gaze switched between you two, tension gone from her shoulders.
She didn’t bother hugging you when it was time to leave, but you didn’t need her to. The gratitude on her face was enough.
Back at the hotel that night, you and Pharah lounged on the bed, French infomercials droning in the background. She watched you thoughtfully, quiet until you finally asked what was on her mind.
“My mother likes you,” she said, brow knitted.
You shrugged. “I guess. How can you tell?"
Pharah kissed your forehead, pulling you tighter against her as you two watched a mustached man try to sell a baguette maker.
"Last time I brought a date, she kept her sidearm on the table.”
I have a fluffy request for a female(or neutral) s/o with Genji, 76, Zenyetta, and or Pharah. Where the their s/o (who has lovely long hair) returns from a mission with choppy short hair, after having been forced to cut it during the mission (someone grabbing it and forcing her to cut it, and enemy cutting her hair by mistake while aiming for her neck, etc)
I’ll go with Female!
Genji
He loved your long hair.
He loved to run his fingers through your hair.
When he saw that it was cut, he loved it all the same. As long as you were happy with it, he was happy too.
Always gave you compliments about your hair, especially if he saw that you were getting self conscious about it.
Still loves it! Also still loves to run his fingers through it.
Soldier 76
He liked your hair long, but honestly he prefers short hair.
He found that long hair was much more a nuisance on the battlefield as the enemy had much more to grab, making you an easier target.
At one point he had asked you to cut it, or at least keep it in a bun on top of your head.
He wasn’t upset when he saw that it was cut short.
In fact, he was a lot more vocal about how cute you looked.
He knew you liked your long hair, so he’s sure not to bring it up often.
Also loves to run his fingers through your hair. It’s soothing for him.
Zenyatta
He likes it any way!
While your hair was long, he liked to try different hairstyles for you.
Was surprisingly good at braiding hair.
When he saw that it was cut and he inquired as to why, he was more worried about your safety than he was your hair.
When you assured him that you were okay, he asked your opinion about it.
If you liked it he liked it!
Even if you didn’t like it he still did.
Pharah
Having short hair herself, she honestly liked your long hair.
Didn’t realize it was cut during a dangerous mission. She was confused as to why you had suddenly cut it, especially when you often told her that you loved your hair.
When you told her the story of how it was chopped, she was angry.
She wasn’t angry about the fact that they cut your hair; she was angry that they dared to get that close to you.
It’s only slightly about your hair.
She offers to have it evened out and cleaned up a bit. When she’s sure it won’t anger you.
How would Pharah,Mercy and Sombra react to coming home from a stressful day to see their Wife S/O holding their newborn child,while the Wife S/O is singing to the child to get the child to sleep? Here is something fluffy for you, keep up the good work friend!
It’s weird how much I enjoy writing the Overwatch characters as parents.
~~~
Pharah
She melts when she sees the scene
Leans in the doorway and closes her eyes to listen to you sing for a bit
Then she does the thing where she comes over and goes behind you
Wraps her arms around you and rests her shoulder while swaying with you as you sing
Not without giving the baby a grin and little wave first though
Of course, she gives you a little kiss and a soft hello before joining you in your mission of lulling the baby to sleep
Maybe even softly hums along
After the baby has settled, she goes and changes out of her work clothes and into something more comfortable while you put the baby to bed
When you both meet up again she drags you onto the couch to snuggle and quietly talk about each of your days
After that maybe turning on some terrible late night TV to stare at until the two of you doze off
She’ll wake up later and carry you to bed anyway
Mercy
Walking inside to seeing you cradling the makes the rest of the day absolutely worth it
She greets you softly from the door, then quietly puts her jacket and equipment away as to not disturb your process
When she’s more or less settled, she comes over and insists on taking the baby from you so you can go change out of your day clothes and take a seat
Chances are spending the day parenting a newborn is just as if not more stressful than her day in the infirmary
Even if you try to protest, she’s already taking the baby from your arms and replacing your singing with soft humming
She manages to greet the baby then put them down for the night in the time it takes you to get into your comfy clothes
She passes you on your way out of the bedroom, gives you a smooch and tells you she’ll be right back before she goes and changes into her own at-home attire
When she finishes, she meets you in the living room with some tea and some dinner leftovers to talk about the day and to just let the two of you relax for a bit before going to bed
Sombra
The scene instantly rejuvenates her
For a hot second she just stands in the doorway with a big grin on her face before kicking off her boots and hanging up her coat
When she comes over to you, she gives you a peck on the cheek and a sweet hello
Then she gives the baby an Eskimo kiss and a little hello too, which briefly interrupts your work of getting the baby to bed
You give her a soft scolding and she makes it up to you by taking the baby from you and sending you to bed
While you get changed and snuggled down for the night, she ends up on the couch with the baby in her arms, telling them some quiet, silly tale
You wait for her to come to bed but after an hour or so you get up to check on her
Sombra’s on the couch with the baby the asleep in her arms, softly snoring with them
You end up taking the baby to their crib either way and then you have to wake Sombra up and convince her to change and come to bed
Eventually, however, you get to be snuggled up with your wife in the warm bed for the night
Hey I love this blog and both mods writing so much! I was wondering if you could do Pharah inviting her s/o to stay with her for Christmas. And her special gift to her s/o would be her proposing sorry if that's really specific haha thank you again!
Ah don’t worry, I like writing specific stuffas well, I’m just worried I won’t get it right. Hope you like it :D

“My love, would youlike spending this Christmas with me?” Asked Fareeha, trying to hide hernervous blush with a sip of coffee. You nodded excitedly, both her and Ana madeyou feel part of the family, you loved spending time over. Ana was anincredible cook and your girlfriend’s company was quite enjoyable.
Fareeha seemed equallyexcited that you accepted her invitation, she took your hand and kissed yournose, winking playfully. It was hard not to like this side of her, to others,she could seem a bit stoic and cold, but she was anything but that. She wasstrong and caring, smart and funny. Even if sometimes, her awful puns couldgive Mei a run for her money.
“Any reason why you’vebeen dropping hints for three months about me spending Christmas with you?” Youfinally asked, this had been on your mind for a little while. You two werecuddling in the aftermath of a quite passionate session of lovemaking, you hadyour head against her chest, you heard her heart start to beat faster.
“No reason inparticular… Just wanted to spend some quality time with you, around a nicemeal, some overly cheesy Christmas music, in a nice setting.” She said, tracingabstract patterns on your back with the tip of her fingers.
You hummed anaffirmative answer, deciding that it was good enough.
Christmas always seemsto be just around the corner, but as soon as you turn around, it jumps on youscreaming ‘surprise’ and ‘you forgot to buy the presents’. Luckily, you hadplanned ahead and already had your present ready. Lena was supposed to bring itlast minute, since it wasn’t exactly easy to hide it. Luckily, the brit wasfast, and nice enough to make a quick trip from her quarters to Fareeha’s.
When you arrived toFareeha’s place, she had already decorated it with pictures and postal cardsfrom all around the world, she was surprisingly able to light her fireplace,which she had been trying to do for approximatively five months, and was waitingfor you, dressed with an ugly Christmas sweater, another one in her arms.
You smiled at theadorable sight, kissed her lightly on her coloured lips, careful not to smearher lipstick, and put on the matching sweater. She led you to the candle-litdiner, you couldn’t help but think that this girl was the cheesiest soldier inthe universe. You had a nice diner, the Christmas tree gently shimmering in thebackground. When you had both finished, you cuddled on the couch, talking aboutyour childhoods. You heard a knock on the door, Fareeha opened it to reveal hermother Ana, who pretty much forced you to eat four slices of cake. There was acommon celebration held in the mess hall, but it wasn’t until later, so you hadenough time to spend with the Amari women.
Ana told you embarrassingstories about Fareeha who made you howl with laughter. Your girlfriend thenlooked insistently at her mother, before nodding.
“It’s time.” Said Fareeha,her hand on your knee. Her mother smiled, and went to make some hot chocolate.
You looked at yourgirlfriend curiously, she took your hand, and placed it against your heart.
“You are the bestthing that has ever happened to me. You stood by me, all this time, you neveronce doubted me. When you saw the wrong of some of my actions, you brought meback to the right path. You always made sure that I was not laid astray fromJustice to Vengeance.” Not once had her eyes left yours.
“I love you witheverything I am, and everything I am yet to be. You are a part of me. You are apart of my family. We may be only three, but we are full of strength, love anddetermination. Will you marry me, my one and only?” She dropped on one knee,kissing your hand.
You felt tears sliddown your cheeks, tackled her to the floor, pampering her with kisses, whilesaying ‘yes’ over and over, in between kisses. She cried a bit too. It didn’tmatter, you were both so happy.
She held you tightly,murmuring how she couldn’t wait to grow old with you. You felt another pair ofarms close around you.
“Welcome to the Amarifamily, habibti.” Said Ana, and you couldn’t be much happier.
You heard the door open,you could pretty much feel the smile in Tracer’s voice when she told you thatshe left the present under the tree, that you should open it quickly, beforedisappearing with a cheerful ‘hohoho’.
You should’ve openedit sooner.
Fareeha broke the warmembrace to look at a really adorable puppy Rottweiler. You knew she /loved/dogs so much, but never really had the time to take care of one. The puppyseemed to like her instantly, it jumped onto her lap, and she hugged it withcare and affection. There were still tears in her eyes.
“I love you /so/ much.”She muttered, while the puppy licked her all over her face. Ana laughed, shewas glad that her daughter had gotten a dog, at last.
