Urban Sketcher is largely about traveling and experiencing unban environment. The choice is then to build a system of infrastructure throughout the river and canal system of Bangkok. Hua Chang Station at Klong Saen Saeb is chosen as the site of the first location because it’s in the center of Bangkok, Near BACC which will bring in art related people, and has the most cencentration of pollution over the other canals.
The building deals with water pollution of Bangkok by sucking up the water from the canal. Filter and process through series of engines in the mechanical section of the building. The key material and substance that will be use for the construction of the building are Heavy Metals, Clay that will be used for 3D printing the building VOCs, and nonylphenols will be used for enhancing stickyness of the printed material to the structure. The clean water flows down from the top of the building for practical use and waters the plants grown throughout the facade of the building.
The programs are intentionally mixed to create the experience of “traveling” which you don’t always know where exactly you are going. This would allow people to wander through the seemingly random form of the building. The programs are sketch exhibitions, auditorium for lectures and workshops, reimagine food places around Bangkok, Park, and Movie set.
The printed material are adhesing to the inner steel structure and pipes that acts like vein of the building. The structure is one single connected system that branches off to be floors, walls, and outer facade.
For this phase, My infrastructure is a skywalk which is expand from the existing one for the gambler and non-gambler.
I choose the site at BTS Ratchadamri which is the nearest BTS to the RBSC. Even it seem to be an easy way to go to the RBSC, The transportation for now is either from BTS Siam ,Silom, MRT Samyan then grab a motorcycle taxi to go there or having your own car . So this phase,i decide to create a skywalk from the existing skywalk which is Siam to Silom pass through the stadium. Also, the gate for people who walk in the street to come inside so no need to drive or walk to another side of the stadium to get in there.
The another interesting point of the problem is that people who is gambler and non-gambler are not spend their time together. On Sunday, the gambler would like to spend their time inside the RBSC as much as they can which is sometime taken almost half of the day (From the first race to the last one)
On the skywalk, it is separated into four part due to the activities and location which is proper for some space only. Firstly, the skywalk which is expand from the existing one. Second part of it, the public community space for people to relax and chill out there including exhibit some artworks or performance. Next space is a space below the BTS. In reality, people has to pay for ticket to go through the BTS to the other side which is a not necessary expenses for them so I create a skywalk that people can walk through without paying anything. And for the last space of the skywalk, Thailand’s law said that no man can gambling outside the area of the stadium so that I create the shape of the skywalk to expand inside the RBSC to not breaking the law.
Cyborg Skoi Laboratories - A Systematic Integration of Human, Nature, and Machine Injected Into Communal Symbiosis
Cyberskoi laboratories is a systematic integration of human, nature, and machine injected into communal symbiosis that would contribute to clean environmental acts, awareness, and research, meanwhile generating trickle up benefits to the surrounding communities. Becoming the grounds to further expand physically manifest the cyberskoi network to the next level.
The Cyborg Lab movement first begins with a rough sketch and design based on the latent infrastructure protocols and the available site and resources.
The first scale of the infrastructure are known as scouters and are semi permanent structure that survey the areas and the potential for further expansion of the infrasturcture into a permanent one.
The first scale of the infrastructure include interactive facilities such as the outdoor gym which powers the hydroelevtric generator. A living quarters for one skoi. An accessible man made cave which houses the affectionate device. An open space underneath to allow existing circulations prior to squatting. And periscope into the facilities which engage the community to the proccesses of the infrastructure and creates a welcoming and non threatening transparency towards the communtiy
After the scouter has found a suitable location to permanently settle into, It begins dissassmbly and planned sketched in order to evole into a permanent infrastructure that parasites into abandoned locations/buildings.
This evolved laboratory is meant for a larger working of skoi networks. There are facilities such as child daycare, a large restroom, and multiple forms of circulation to facilitate this. There are also laboratiess and a broadcasting network to further expand the achievements and influence of the skois. The rest of the facilities are similar to the scouter but merely expanded into the available and suitable location.
The infrastructure can be accessed from the port as well which introduces a whole other demographic, not only to the environmental awareness acts of the infrastructure or the empowerment of females, but also the to culture of this area.
Although this infrastructure looks specific, it is merely an example of how it would look in this specific location. As this project is a guide or protocol of how it could petentially be built, if this infrastructure were to arise in any other location, if would definitely have a different appearance and outcomes with different facilities and layouts.

The arrival of the boat activates the site, the changing of the water level as to how it affects the land, the floating market is busy, the emission of the smoke from the chimney may all be clearly seen in the animation.
Several sections as to how the water level affects the docking of the boat may be seen here. With two docks, one fixed and one on rails only extending to reach out when a boat dock is responsible for connecting the land with the infrastructure that activates the site. Furthermore, multiple docking of the boats may also be possible and to enhance the experience. As a visitor if forced to walk in through either side through the tiger's mouth.
Another section showing the connection of the vortex to the chimney and how water vapour is generated to be emitted out through a nozzle that would be a signal for cabs around the place. Its intensity has also been represented on the storytelling brochure.
Proposal of the infrastructure including the site and the boat travelling to it.
Since the temple has tiger embedded as a recognition. The boat travelling to it must also stand out and be easily identifiable. This has been done by creating a tiger skin facade on the sides of the boat. The boat travelling almost an hour at 24 knots would carry 72 passengers starting off at BTS Saphan Taksin further details will be discussed in the storytelling plate.
As for the infrastructure, the mapping of the different tide levels may clearly be seen as to how it affects the land. The other attractions such as the chimney, massage and floating dock may also be seen. The elevation may also be seen in contrast to the existing site.
Prostitution - Machines for Hedonistic Appearances
The new way of behaving in the subculture, From the customer is the only one to get to choose by using the money for pleasure which leave a big gap between fairness of the prosumer. To promote and gives both advantages to the customer and prosumer, the infrastructure will be a place where firstly focused on how people can be gathered together which allows all to be able to find the similarity characteristic then it could be finally lead into sexual activity.
The function of the buildings
1. Ground floor :
The Gathering space where each of them can first meet here. The space is able to look around easily and forcing people circulated only in front which will get attracted by the bar in front then they will be able to move to other floors by walking to the back and goes into the elevator. The furniture directly enhances the people to sit together and be able to see others in any direction. Also, it will work as a block to control the circulation of people. There will be tablets provided for helping people to search for similar characteristics.
2. Second floor (duplex floor) :
This floor is more private than the ground floor where it is able to reach from only the staircase at the back of the ground floor. The purpose of the double space could be where the prosumer who already matched can get to know privately and freely decided.
3. Third floor :
After each people got matched then they can access this floor for relaxing. The curve of each module of the wall will be the following patterns of ergonomics to support each position where people here can immediately either have sex or explore around of the space.
4. Fourth floor :
This floor is about to be more focus on sexual activity after gathering and relaxing. The atmosphere on this floor will be the private pool and dim light to engage people for having sex. The curtain will be provided for each pool for privacy.
5. Fifth floor :
The similar ideas as the fourth floor, but it is located on the rooftop which is outdoor. There also be the pool provided and adding the affective device back to the infrastructure.
6. Car park building :
The space is provided for who would like the experience of private sexual activity in the car. similar concept to the drive-in hotel but it has to room at all, just car. The features for the space is there will be a white curtain to gives privacy and the curtain could change the environment around which are from the screen projector.
This progress to this phase from the last one is that the content within that the device I design was adapting VR device to the specific space that fits have have a suitable quality, but in this phase I am to design a space that is made especially to host the action of VR as a community. The devide would also still be applied to the main building of the Street where it will be able to connect with the pavilion.
The pavilion was meant to be a temporary structure in front of the Street Ratchda parking space, following the concept that the Street Ratchada front parking space is flexible and always hosting new event occasionally. The structure can be placed there every few months or so as the VR Chat community grows. Being a temporary structure I decide to use materials which would be easy to carry and assemble. The structure frame is made out of steel which would be carried by car and assembled on site. One of the main concern is that direct light may interrupt the experience of using VR so this structure is made to prevent light from entering the space, this is done so by using corrugated metal roofing using the steel frame as a guide. The structure is placed outside so it have to resist rain. I implied a mechanic using elevated foundation and tube column where if the weather is rainy the rain would slide down the roof into inside the column then it would be released on the elevated foundation.
This pavilion is consisted of 4 major VR world in total. The home world (lobby), tutorial world, avatar selection world and the main gathering hub. There are two way of entering to the main area. If you are a beginner you exchange VR at the lobby, go through the introduction zone and tutorial room where you learn all the basics, select the avatar at the selection room then through to the main gathering hub shown in the blue arrow. Returning players exchange the VR then can go straight to the gathering hub using the shortcut shown in white arrow. After meeting and communicating at the main hub, they can later decide to go to different world mapped within the street Ratchada or keep staying at the pavilion.
Most of the floors have a flat simple surface but for the VR garden area the floor has an organic shape which is done by using bent glass fiber and placing them on top of the metal plate. To further enhance the environment of the garden I added two more simple method. The garden area is applied with LED sheet placed on top of the glass fiber and the river area is applied with a projection mapping to further illuminate the area with the color matching it’s VR world. Each area also require different type of activities so the roof dynamic and he height of the wall and column ranges depending on the space tendency of being more active. For example the lobby which doesn’t require you to jump around is lower (2 meter) and the gathering area where you do more actions and interact more is higher (3+ meter). For area where there are boundless sky in VR chat the minimum height is 4 meter where no matter how high people jump they will not reach the ceiling making it feels more realistic.
Each of the world in the VR room would be providing the different atmosphere than the others. The statement that if direct/excess light enters the VR it would ruin the experience but if the lighting that enters is planned and design it could enhance the game play. That’s why I’ve decided to use cove LED lighting attached to the roof. The method is using a u shade metal plate attaching to the I beam used for the roof steel frame and put the LED light strip inside so that light bounces of the roof and into the user. The LED lighting would also be differentiated in different color depending the world. This does not only enhance the game-play but other people that doesn't use the VR can come in and enjoy the aesthetic of the space as well as getting a partial experience of the VR chat game-play. The walls, floors and columns are applied with safety material such as cushion and rubber which is very necessary no avoid collision and slipping which could cause injury.
The facade of the pavilion is the main attraction and is what will enhance and attract other people to join the community. It is made from LED screen that would display the game-play of the VR chat live within the pavilion. This also affect the layout the the world/space where people would be more active would be more pushed towards the facade so that the more energetic actions will have higher percentage to catch people’s attention. The streets during day time has fewer people then the night time, so it is important that the LED screen should have a bright and attractive LED lighting in order to maximize the potential of gaining attention from people walking and driving by. The color on day time is tending to be fresh, natural and bright so that it would contrast with the surrounding and stand out more. During night time less people are walking outside so the LED screen can be less attracting and more focused on aesthetic and soothing color, and because it’s dark the LED screen would naturally stand out more than the day which means the screen doesn’t have to be as bright as the day. During the night the display will be focused more on the realism of the actual game play.
