The Street Ratchada

The Street Ratchada users have a similar trait as VR chat users. It attracts kids to young adult with many variety of activities ranging from indoor sport to co-working space. The main part is that the place has a high flexibility which the street already uses to transform many of the spaces into another during specific events. e.g. inner parking lot to sport training, outer parking space to concert and many other events.

Horse gambler

For this phase, My infrastructure is a skywalk which is expand from the existing one for the gambler and non-gambler.

I choose the site at BTS Ratchadamri which is the nearest BTS to the RBSC. Even it seem to be an easy way to go to the RBSC, The transportation for now is either from BTS Siam ,Silom, MRT Samyan then grab a motorcycle taxi to go there or having your own car . So this phase,i decide to create a skywalk from the existing skywalk which is Siam to Silom pass through the stadium. Also, the gate for people who walk in the street to come inside so no need to drive or walk to another side of the stadium to get in there.

The another interesting point of the problem is that people who is gambler and non-gambler are not spend their time together. On Sunday, the gambler would like to spend their time inside the RBSC as much as they can which is sometime taken almost half of the day (From the first race to the last one)

On the skywalk, it is separated into four part due to the activities and location which is proper for some space only. Firstly, the skywalk which is expand from the existing one. Second part of it, the public community space for people to relax and chill out there including exhibit some artworks or performance. Next space is a space below the BTS. In reality, people has to pay for ticket to go through the BTS to the other side which is a not necessary expenses for them so I create a skywalk that people can walk through without paying anything. And for the last space of the skywalk, Thailand’s law said that no man can gambling outside the area of the stadium so that I create the shape of the skywalk to expand inside the RBSC to not breaking the law.

Site Analysis

An analysis of all the different means of transport connecting the city and the site on normal days as well as event days that ultimately leads to the design proposal.

Analysing the site on normal days as well as the event day, including all the different means of transportation on land and water, such as boat, car, bus, train, cab, grab, bike and on foot. Each being represented differently on the table. The parking and crowd may clearly be seen with respect to the change in time. This circuit connects the city with the site and most importantly leading to an infrastructure proposal, which could significantly reduce the traffic and manage the crowd better. This would also increase the tourist attraction to the site and ultimately increase the revenue earnings of the temple through tattooing, merchandise and food.

Cyborg Skoi Laboratories - Latent Infrastructure

To begin the direction for my infrastructure, I explored how the affectionate device could evolve into a hedonistic infrastructure to benefit not only the subculture, but also the surround communities. The video above is the protocol of the processes that the skoi could take to start construction and operation of the cyber skoi laboratories 

After the processes were established, I begin to explore the community where the infrastrcture could squat and then evnetually create a beneficial parastic relationship with the area.

I explored the different demographics in the area and how they relate and can interact with the protocols and infrastructures set up by the skois.

As the motorcycle is extremely integrated into the subculture’s identity, I also explored how the distinct pieces of a typical motorcycle can be manipulated into construction elements for a squatting infrastructure

Axonometric Site

A mapping of the tides and the analysis of the existing site and how that leads to creating an infrastructure in the river.

Classifying the different attraction for the site and grouping them according to their installation feature - floating, submerged or lifted off the ground. Then analysing the site and corresponding their intensity on the infrastructure before creating contours and adding the finish and creating typography that would be controlled by the movement of the water. The tide has also been analysed to check the different water height. This being affected by the different phases of the moon which have been mapped with the different capacity according to the dates.

Prostitution - Latent Infrastructure  

Sukhumvit 4 Alley is where the  Machines for Hedonistic Appearances is located. This area has been one of the biggest community for sexual trading, night club, and hotel for this subculture and many tourists from foreign countries.

 The sexual trading in this area varies such as massage, pool, cocktail lounge, waitress, and pole dancer. Since the existing sexual trading career as mentioned are actually changed only the appearances. But the message behind that is not only how the choice and variety of prosumer but also need to focus on how the prosumer gets to choose the one who will be having sex with as well. So this area has a lot of potentials to express the new way of the subculture.

Street Food Vendor -  Latent Infrastructure

The site selections are under Taksin Bridge and Chon Nonsi Skywalk which have a lot of street food vendors in the past but now there are a few of them. There are many differences between the two sites.

Under Taksin Bridge is the interchange points of transportation; Skytrain, Chao Phraya Express Boat, and Mini Bus. So people who have visited here are tourists and varieties in occupations in every time.

Chon Nonsi Skywalk is in the business area, so there are a lot of white collars who wants some cheap and fast food. And the times that vendors can sell a lot are before their work time, at noon break, and after they have finished work.

LoungePokémon Hunter

Before starting to design the Latent Infrastructure, studying the site is important.

BTS is one of the main route where Gym or Pokémon platform are located. So I choose one of the among stations, which is On nut Station. As I seeking this station, found out that even there is condos around station, however a lot of people still choose to live at their house. House doesn’t have any facilities as condominium have.

So the idea of an Infrastructure for the Pokémon hunter and also providing facilities to the public is my final ideas.
