Couples I Need To See Once More

Rules: Name ten character couples (not acting pairings) that left you wanting more, even though there’s no chance of ever seeing them again. Then tag some folks to see who else was left wanting more.

1 - Jao & Sky / Will Sky ever genuinely believe that Jao thinks he’s the most beautiful human on the planet? How will Sky deal with his ongoing BDD and insecurities? Will Jao continued to be the most patient, goofy and loving green flag ever for his introverted boyfriend? I need this and so much more!

2 - Jaeyeong & Sangwoo / I would’ve loved to see the way these two worked through the various stages of dating, with Sangwoo’s autism making things have to follow a certain pattern for his brain to comprehend them. It would’ve been wonderful to see Jang Jaeyeong’s gentle—and occasionally sarcastic—guidance about things like dinner dates, cuddling, cohabitation and sex.

3 - Methee & Thaenthai / Thee finally manages to save Thaen from his father and with his name being cleared by Charn, what is next for these two? I needed so much more of them. Their story was so tragic, but had so many great romantic tropes. Thee just wanted to save his young master and show him that there actually was someone in the world that genuinely loved him, it was so beautiful.

4 - That & Sorn / AHHHHHHHHH!!! My babies! The cutie little pattooies! That and Sorn were the sweetest and most innocent love story I think I’ve ever seen in a BL, the feelings were gradual and natural, it felt like a real high school romance. Sure it was fraught with danger and drama, the series was a murder mystery after all. But those two were just little rays of sunshine in a dark place, even Tan and Bunn saw it. I need more of them.

5 - Jack & Joker / WHAT WAS THAT!? That ending, omg! The fact that we will never get a chance to see Joke rescued, find out who took him or see Jack happy again is just gut wrenching. I need Jack to realize that he was just ‘seeing’ Joke due to his guilt and grief, that it wasn’t really Joke’s ghost because the dude isn’t dead! I need so much freaking more, if not a full blown second season, then at the very least another special episode.

6 - Jiang Tian & Sheng Wang / Heartbreak, just freaking heartbreak the entire time! I know canonically that it’s like over a decade until they finally get to the point of acceptance. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want it! Their story was unfinished and at this point the likelihood of the series continuing is below zero. I just need more, I think we all can agree that we need more. These characters had us in a stranglehold for months, it ending the way it did was just evil.

7 - Tae Myungha & Cha Yeowoon / Myungha got his second chance, but he still has his memories of nearly fifteen extra years of life. Will that change how he ages? How he and Yeowoon’s relationship grows? Will be use is knowledge about the future to make sure their lives are secure? He found happiness, but depression is not ‘cured’ with love. Will he relapse? Does Yeowoon worry? Have they told their friends the truth about Myungha? I have so many questions, but mostly I just want to see them continue to live their lives.

8 - Kim & Kenta / The last thing I want is more Pit Babe, okay, I’ll admit that. But dammit Kim and Kenta needed more, just more. More screen time, more time to build their relationship, more time to fall in love. Having Kim go back to Korea and leave Kenta behind after everything they went through was just terrible! Screw the five second cameo at the wedding, that wasn’t enough, I needed to see Kenta’s soft era, his househusband era, his healing era. Dammit I just wanted their domestic bliss era!

9 - Beer & Wan / They were so sweet, Beer being willing to just love and care for Wan as a best friend for the rest of their lives because of Wan’s commitment issues due to his past. He was patient and kind and didn’t push Wan when Wan told him that he was afraid of them dating because he didn’t want to lose the one solid thing in his life, which was Beer. Just so many green flags! When Wan finally admitted that he was more scared of never getting to be with Beer than the possibility of losing him, it was just; chef’s kiss! I needed a special episode, I needed to see how their relationship went from friendship to lovers, I wanted the ups and downs, I just wanted more of them.

10 - Phee & Jin / Are they dead? Are they in drug induced comas? Are they all in a parallel universe? What. Is. Happening!? That ending was just cruel, because they knew we would never get an answer and dammit I wanted more. I needed more of their messy history, their messy relationship, their messy connection to Non, their messy emotions about each other and Non. Sammon was one of the screenwriters so knowing how she works, she probably has answers to all of those questions and I hate that I’ll never get them.
