Rafayel | Lemurian Sea God and Sylus | Beyond Cloudfall. {Myths}

This myth has broken my heart.

The only thing I have watched was the trailers, and all I know is that Rafayel loved us so much, it was heartbreaking to see the pink in his eyes and on his long hair, dissolving as we dissolved in his arms.

We never made him choose between us and Lemuria. We took the initiative and sacrificed ourselves so he could reign and live. His adoration and pure love and devotion he had for us, that we had for him, made us the perfect... sacrifice.

I couldn't help but compare it to Sylus, for obvious reasons. Both had 'prophecies' about their beloved, in which both of them would end up with us dead. Yet Sylus would rather end his existence than not have us exist in his life, and we would rather be gone than face the possibility of bringing the downfall of Rafayel's life.

It was a interesting parallel because Rafayel The Lemurian God and the Dragon! Sorceress (SylusMC) mirrored each other, for they have both lost their beloveds... and technically, by their very own hands.

Now this is a headcanon that came to my mind once I comprehended this whole rollercoaster... or is it a legit theory? Maybe both.

Lemuria is on Earth, right? Therefore, this myth occurs way before humanity moved to Philos, where Tarus City and Sylus's Dragon myth is taken place.

If we connect each of the romantic timelines, making them into a single universe where the Love Interests were our beloveds in different lives...

Wouldn't that make it, in a twisted way, Sylus's death a feat of karma for us?

Because in our previous life... we forced Rafayel to choose himself over us, therefore following the 'prophecy'.

But in Sylus, we are directly trying to go against it. We are hereby rebelling against fate, words written in stone.

And the conclusion?

There are no losers or winners,

Only mourners.

I caught Xavier smirking after he untied MC's hair in Wander in Wonder: Floral Blessing. I never realised until a few months ago that it's one of his general animations and I'll never be the same again.

OUROBOROS | prologue: the death of a queen

PAIRING. xavier x reader, xavier x queen!mc, (more to be added)

SYNOPSIS. A queen finds herself in a lab, occupying a body that is hers yet not. Everything and nothing changes. [Or more accurately, the one where Philos!MC awakens in Linkon!MC's body during her time at the Gaia Research Center.]

Philosian monarchs are said to be starfire made flesh—human personifications of celestial bodies. You, current queen of Philos, are none of these things. Rather, you are born of the earth, far removed from the stars of the night sky. 

“You are exactly what Philos needs,” Xavier—former crown prince turned Grandis Knight and now traitor due to his desertion—had said centuries ago. “The life of spring comes from the earth, not stardust and fire.” 

The you of the past—young, naive, and terribly in love with him—had believed his word to be true. However, the you of the present—hardened by duty, heart heavy with the grief of his departure yet still utterly, irrevocably in love with him—now knew that he was right. He had missed a crucial detail though. 

Even something as tranquil as peace demanded a sacrifice. And as you choke on your blood in the heart of the forest Xavier had saved you from all those years ago, you knew exactly what sacrifice Philos demanded—your life. 

You can still vividly recall the disgust in Xavier’s voice when he’d finally confessed the truth to you. Philos was built on the blood of innocents; its prosperity contingent on continued sacrifice. And the royal family—his family—had found the perfect one: the girl who’d gifted him that star tassel all those years ago—his guiding starlight. 

The logical part of you agreed with the former King. What was the life of one girl—especially one who could die and be reborn for eternity—compared to an entire planet? But the part of you that loved Xavier—the part that knew such cruelty was fueled by the bitterness of loving someone you could never have—understood him. 

Giving up someone you love for the planet or saving the planet for the one you love—which was more noble? More heartbreaking?

Xavier had chosen the latter and damned you in the process. Still, you couldn’t bring yourself to hate him or the girl he loved so fiercely. Whether you were noble or foolish, it didn’t matter anymore. The time he had borrowed for both the planet and the girl now demanded repayment in full, and you were the one that had to pay the price. 

The shining stars faded into darkness as your lifeblood drained out of you and into the heart of Philos, enabling Death to pull you closer into its embrace. 

Hopefully death would grant both you and Philos peace.

CHERRY'S NOTES. heyyyyyyy, i'm not dead! i've just been... buried in school work for the past few months hahaha... ANYWAYS! I'M BACK! WITH ANGST! bc apparently, i can't seem to write anything else

in all seriousness, i've been wanting to write for xavier for what feels like forever. and now that i've finally grown the balls to play xavier's standard myth, i give you this! this plot bunny is my love letter to queen!mc, who i fear has not been done justice by the fandom. at least, from what i've seen (shivers in misogynistic takes)

i mean yeah, xavier and philos!mc's miscommunication was painful to read. i honestly wanted to rip my hair out more than once. but i feel so much for her. like, how was she supposed to know that the girl xavier has been alluding to all this time was in fact, her? was it stupid to be jealous of herself? maybe, but she doesn't have the knowledge that we (as players) or xavier does. unlike him, she isn't cursed (blessed?) with the burden of remembering

so yeah, philos!mc get behind me girl! it's so hard to assume when you're in love. after all, isn't it human instinct to want to protect ourselves?

just a reminder that xavier's ass is NOT 200 years old. he spent 213 years on EARTH alone, and he never experienced any deaths or rebirths (as far as we know). he's gotta be like five hundred years at least or something, because we're counting his Philos years too. if you remember the lightseeker myth, the timeskips between his missions were at least a hundred years or something. and he was probably born way before his lightseeker era if we look at his When Shooting Stars Fall anecdote, which takes place earlier. he had the star tassel the terminally unwell MC gave him before she died in his anecdote in the lightseeker myths. and im pretty sure the MC wasnt reborn healthier a week after his anecdote, it def took a long time. hell he could even be 1,000 years old☠️☠️☠️🙏🙏🙏
