"Read?" Jake's eyes widen, his cheeks squishing up into a smile. "I didn't know you could read."

His foot connects with Jake's shin underneath the covers. Jake retaliates by hooking his calf around Bradley's, keeping their legs intertwined. Through the thin fabric of their pajama pants, Bradley can feel body heat and lithe muscles. He doesn't shift in fear Jake will pull away.

"Fuck you."

"No, no," Jake slides back down so they're eye to eye, using an arm under his head as a cushion. "Tell me about these picture books you like to read."

But the Seresin family ruins sereshaw, aka Jake's family causes the hangster break up please!

So this is my baby, my beloved, my pain in the neck lmao I absolutely adore this idea but it literally fights me at every step XD

It came about a few months ago because I kept seeing posts about what caused the Hangster break up and how if Jake's family was loving, they just accepted Bradley like it was no problems and I asked myself, what if Jake's family was the issue and they were a mix of good and bad? Like Jake grew up in a loving, and.... mostly accepting family (his parents and older sisters aren't entirely down with him being queer but tolerate it at best because they love him) but what they can't entertain Jake settling with someone who is so clearly beneath their means and status.

His parents, his older sisters, they all they actively sabotage the relationship, driving Bradley to break up. And they assume Jake will bounce back from it relatively quickly and are shocked, shocked I tell you, when he doesn't. When Jake actively refuses to give into their demanding suggestions about moving on, and oh you should go out with this friend's son and what not. And of course Jake doesn't take any of that well, because Bradley was his. Was the love of his life and he struggles to move on and fights with himself because he thinks he should but he can't seem to make himself do so.

Anyway. This one is a lot of angst and misunderstanding and will have a ridiculously soft ending because of all the shit I'm planning to put Jake and Bradley through.

“Fuuuuuuck,” Bradley groans throwing his head back staring at his bathroom ceiling. “Well little one I guess I need to go figure out how to tell your daddy.”

“‘Yotes I’m telling you Bradley was acting weird this morning,” Jake states again trying to convey to his best friend how much it’s troubling him.

“When the hell did Rooster become Bradley to you,” Javy asks trying to lighten the mood and because he really truly doesn’t know why it matters so damn much to Jake.

Since you are so curios about Jake's reaction here are 45 words about him finishing episode 87:

When the episode ended he was in a better mood. Bradley going on a 10 minute rant full of praise and calling him the man of his dreams simply had that effect on him.

What can he say? He was in love with the guy.

this is the other wip that i am obsessed with!! it's a third installment of blind devotion which is a series with similar themes but different au's

Pretty Young Gods essentially takes inspiration from greek mythology/achille's heel and is Hangster set pre, during, and post-canon!

When you know you know. Bradley sees Seresin pass in the hallway and immediately feels the pull of the burden between them. He knees the desk in surprise at how sharp the pull is in his gut, wincing. 

Across the way, Seresin flinches mid step.

wrote a few hundred words, here's one of the outtakes where they're going to have their first synced cycle:

He traced his finger over the initial embellishment on the thick leather.

“Yeah, yeah,” Jake laughed. “All yours, don’t worry.”

“The color’s pretty,” Bradley remarked. “I like this better than the old one.” 

“It feels better.” Jake tilted his head a few times, tugging at the little give on the collar to test the way it pulled taut against his skin. Bradley liked to grab and bend Jake back during his ruts, rougher than usual.

It was impossible to breathe, watching the fine line of Jake’s throat as he tilted his head to the right to shave. The bare spot called to Bradley’s instinct. Earlier, as Bradley hovered by the field waiting for Jake to be done with practice, Adrian brushed his fingers along Jake’s bare torso. That called to Bradley’s jealousy. 

“You got a shirt I could borrow?” Jake met his eyes in the mirror. 

“Yeah,” Bradley said, face hot at being caught. “One sec.”

If he tugged a soft green shirt with an open collar off the hangar because it put the divot of Jake’s collarbone on display, well. That was for him to take to the grave. “You know who else is gonna be there?”

“Some old teammates.” Bradley picked off a piece of lint from his own shirt. The shot they’d taken was still cloying on his tongue, the burn sitting funny in his stomach. A drop of water was still rolling down Jake’s side from his shower. Bradley looked away.

“Hangman,” Bradley sighed. “Shut up and just bunny hop down the slope. Look! There are toddlers doing this shit.”

He pointed to where two small figures were bundled in bright orange and pink snow jackets, only a thin sliver of their eyes and cold-swept cheeks visible. 

Jake refused to be bested by children. “Fine.”
