10. Introduce an OC with a complicated design?
Oh christ I don’t know what they mean by complicated here, but if they mean by physical appearance I have this one oc for my Sylvester story I’m writing who has several intricate tattoos and scars along his body that are a pain to both write and draw out and I wanna punch a wall every time I bring him up
20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?
August - an OC I haven’t formally introduced - and Phoebe, and Sylvester, all sing. August has a very soft voice, like the voice you’d expect to hear from a choir boy or something. His preferences to music are more choral, obviously, or classical in sense. Phoebe has a more raspy, sultry tone about her, but her preference of music lies with traditional italian and greek tunes. I don’t really have headcanon voices established for them, as I haven’t fully divulged time into finding them. Sylvester, well, he sticks to singing songs in his native language rather than trying to sing songs in English, or German, and so on. I have a headcanon voice for him but ya never know, it may change!
30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection?
Lynnette. She tries to act all tough, she really does, but she’s still a child and she still really cares for her stuffed rabbit, so no matter what she brings it with her whenever she comes to Gotham for the summer. Even if Sylvester teases her for it.
40. Any fond memories linked to your characters? Feel free to share!
Memories of mine??? Ho boy I don’t really know :,) like I sometimes use my own personal experiences when writing them - like, for Sylvester I used experience from my brief stint in France to describe his childhood, or for Phoebe I used my time in Italy, then for August my time in Germany, and I suppose those were all fond memories! A lot of them involved getting lost and eating far too much food though, ha!
50. Give me the good ol’ OC talk here. Talk about anything you want
Oh geez, I suppose since I’ve mentioned him I’ll use this as a prime opportunity to introduce August. Now, August is the main antagonist of the story I’m writing with Sylvester - kinda like an official intro to him, I guess? Anyway, allow me to begin;
August Richter was born May 3rd,1997 in Bundeswehrkrankenhaus Hospital in Berlin, Germany to an unnamed mother who was declared unfit to raise him. His mother had earned an income by participating in a program known as Verarbeiten Zwei, a genetic modification project funded by a private company. August, after his removal from his mother, was put in the care of a foster home to be held under close observation to see if he was the first potential success to a ‘designer baby’. He was eventually integrated into another family and kept under close observation by the Father, Doctor Joseph Richter. August began to show signs of success as a modified infant - he could easily understand problems and puzzles, proving he was a quick learner with a high intellect, and was fast to distinguish when people were being honest to him. August had a habit of acting out, but ceased this after realizing his father seemed to up the observations whenever he did so.
When August was 9 years old, Sylvester Blanc murdered his parents killer in Paris, France. Five years later Sylvester was a patient under August’s fathers care, for therapy pertaining to issues involving PTSD and his obsessive habits. On December 20th, almost 6 years since Sylvester killed his parents killer, Dr. Richter invited Sylvester into his home for a brief meeting. The meeting ended poorly when tensions escalated after the revelation of Sylvester’s hobby (distilling) and Sylvester lashed out, killing Dr. Richter by hitting him across the head with a candle holder. Sylvester then went on to kill Mrs. Richter as well. He was unaware of August being in the house at the time,as Dr. Richter never mentioned having a child and there were no pictures around, but August witnessed Sylvester leaving the scene and found the bodies first. It was August who coined the term ‘Das Monster’ to the newspapers later on.
After the death of his parents, August was integrated back into foster care and moved to a small fishing town off the coast of the British Isles with a new adopted family. He began to display his ‘abnormalities’ again and his new family became concerned. August picked up small jobs running chop shops and fishing supply stores, but continued to keep track of the patterns of ‘Das Monster’ as he did so. Through this, he learned he had the gift of charisma; he could talk people into doing what he pleased with a smile and a few soft words. When August turned 18 he tracked Sylvester to Siberia, where he was under the pseudonym of ‘The Pale Man’. August made plans to lash out at Sylvester, and used his gift of charisma to rally up enough people in the small town that Sylvester lived on the outskirts of . He utilized his gift of controlling people and began to develop a God Complex (which will later only increase). When they arrived at the cottage Sylvester was in they found it abandoned, save for the faint scent of perfume. August, now driven to the brink, began to furiously hunt Sylvester down again. He went jumping across Europe, following any lead Sylvester might’ve left, before tracking his trail to Gotham. August, now 19, then traveled to Gotham and began to use his gifts of charisma and manipulation once again to obtain information as to who Sylvester is. August eventually pinpointed Sylvester as the owner of the Oleander Perfume Shop, and began to finalize plans to enact his revenge.
this is like fast summary - i got details to sort out rip
Writer's Choice: Choose any 5 from the OC meme list for Phoebe B)
22. What they’re like on 2 hours of sleep
Phoebe is absolutely out of it. We’re talkin mis-matched socks, barely put together messy bun, eyes half open, shuffling her way to work kind of out of it. She tends to get a lot of sleep during the night b/c of this ^
16. Their dreams?
She wants to start her own business, a coffee shop business or get her music to go national. She really dreams of getting out of Gotham and back to Italy, but first she wants to ensure her family is secured and well-off. She also dreams of seeing famous performers, such as Itzhak Perlman, live on stage.
10. Their fashion sense?
She’s a very average dresser. She wears jeans and baggy sweaters a lot, but occasionally she’ll wear skirts. She has a slight sloppy style to her which is a far cry from all the people she see’s at the hotel and coffee shop she works at. Her hair is either braided or up in a bun, she never keeps it down, and she tends to wear sneakers more than anything else. The only exception to this is when she’s working, in which case she’ll dress to make herself look decent.
11. Their family life?
Her family is very close knit. We’re talkin sit down dinners every night close knit. She feels comfortable talking to her mother about personal issues and such, and she feels a great sense of maternal care towards her two brothers, to the point in which she commits crimes to ensure their well-off in the future. But a very good family life.
25. Why you enjoy them?
She’s a fun character to explore! It’s interesting for me to poke and prod at a different type of criminal - instead of someone who’s obsessed with power and acceptance, I write a criminal who hates what she does and really just wants to get by. It’s also really fun to indulge in her past and personality, and I love all the research I get to do to expand it :)
*slides in* 2 and 28 for Sylvester, 6 and 15 for Lynette, 11 and 29 for Penelope B)
Sylvester
2. Does your OC easily adapt to changes in life or do they have a hard time getting accustomed?
Sylvester used to have a hard time adapting when he was a kid because his mother kept him on a strict routine, due to his health and condition, but when he started moving around Europe a lot more he became accustomed to quick changes that occur day to day. So now, as a full grown adult, he’s pretty use to things rapidly changing unexpectedly!
28. Is your OC loyal or more prone to taking advantage to people close to them?
He takes advantage of people. He likes to figure out what they can do to benefit him, and then he’ll use that gift to help further him along. He did this with Alexi in order to get complete control of the gang - he used Alexi’s desire to destroy Black Mask against him. The only one he won’t ever take advantage of is Lynnette!
Lynnette
6. Does your OC have an unrealistic view of some area of their life or worldview?
Lynnette believes that the crimes that Sylvester has and is currently committing is justified. It’s a very unhealthy view, but Sylvester has almost integrated her, in a sense, to his kind of lifestyle which in return is forcing her to see crime as good and law enforcement as bad. This view tends to carry on in all aspects of her life. (Seeing as she’s stayed with him for 3 summers, this view is almost cemented in her mind and would take a lot of therapy and assistance for her to realize that the crimes and actions Sylvester is doing is not okay, and is not - in any sense - justifiable). Sylvester is conditioning her to sympathize with him, and he’s aware of it.
15. Is your OC afraid of confrontation or do they seek to lay things out in the open?
Lynnette is a very direct person. If she has a problem with you or senses that you may have a problem with her she won’t hesitate to directly confront you regarding this. If she can, she’ll talk it out with you, but sometimes things need to be handled in a more physical way, and this is when she tends to put her Rugby and Boxing training to use.
(Now I think for this one you meant Phoebe, cause I don’t have an OC named Penelope (yet ;D ) )
11. What makes your OC feel most guilt in their life?
She feels a lot of guilt when it comes to the crimes she commits. The robbing of houses is very minor in Gotham, but she feels really awful, even though it’s the only way for her family to get by (besides her jobs at both The Cafe and working with her mother as a room cleaner in the Gotham Hotel). She also feels a second hand guilt in forcing her family to leave Italy, due to her powers and such. Even though her mother assured her it was the people and not her, she can’t help but feel that if she kept her abilities more under wraps they could still be at home.
29. Is your OC wild/reckless or do they tend to stay on the safe side inside their comfort zone?
Well I wouldn’t call her wild and reckless, but she’s definitely not in the safe zone either. Committing crimes in Gotham is out of her comfort zone, but she does them anyway. She definitely tries to keep a low profile because if she were to get arrested, her family would lose a very valuable income, and possibly their homes/lives. So the most wild thing she does is petty thievery, and other than that she’s a pretty shy and constrained person!
Djdjdjdj She was made very recently so have mercy – I’vejust been playing around with her character a bit
Full Name: PhoebeBeatrice Halloway Gender/Sexuality: Female – Asexual Pronouns: She/HerEthnicity/Species: Grecian/ Italian – Human Birthplace/Birthdate: June 21st, 1995 – Acireale, Italy (Movedto Gotham at age twelve)Phobias: Fear of water, fear of being ridiculed, fear of vertigo and fearof narrow things/spacesWhat They Would Be Famous For: She’s talented when it comes to musicalinstruments, so perhaps she’d find fame through that! She’s also quite talentedat poetry – maybe her works could become famous as well! What They Would Get Arrested For: Perhaps she’d get arrested for stealing, something she does habitually, or destruction of property. OC You Ship Them With: I honestly can’t think of anyone I’d ship her with. OC Most Likely To Murder Them: I don’t think anyone really wants to murderher!
Favorite Movie/Book Genre: She enjoys tragedy novels, one that really wrench you’re heard, as wellas poetry books. Her favorite movie genres are silent films and noir films!Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: She hates documentaries and biographicalnovels – they just have limited interest for her. Talents and/or Powers: Okay this is where the guilty pleasure part comesin. I’ve written her as Telekinetic, but at basic levels – she becomes fatigueif she overexerts her telekinetic abilities, and tends to avoid doing so. (Tobe fair, Super-boy as well is both telepathic and telekinetic). On a more humannote, she plays the piano and harp very well, and is teaching herself theflute! She also has a talent for sticking spoons to her nose and keeping themthere. Why Someone Might Love Them: She’s a very quiet and self-containedindividual who makes a wonderful listening partner, and a supportive friend.You can rest assured that she would be the last person to betray you. Why Someone Might Hate Them: Telekinesis might be shunned upon as a ‘freakish’trait, leading to bias from those around her. Her quiet demeanor can causeissues as well as her lack of desire for confrontation. If she becomes angryher powers tend to lash out, leading to damage of property and people aroundher. This could be problematic. How They Change: She needs to learn to reach out to others and become moresocial, as well as learn to control her abilities. Why You Love Them: She’s my newest child and though there’s gonna be a lotof work dedicated to her to tidy up this supernatural powers mess andstereotypical trait – and yeah it is stereotypical imo – I’m ready to commit tosee her form into a wonderful character ;;
