In understand the appeal of 1973’s Goncharov, but I wonder why we don’t apply such passion to restoring or researching lost literature.

For example, why doesn’t more of the science-fiction fandom (particularly the Horus Heresy, 40k fandom) appreciate the surviving passages of the 1937 pre-atomic/pulp sci-fi classic “Stars Asunder?”

Here we have the makings of a truly amazing science-fiction classic, a foundation for Grim-Dark (but with hope, of course, being a core element, the promise that the darkness may yet fade), and a plethora of characters and plot points whose complexity lay the groundwork for everything from “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep,” to “Flight of the Eisenstein,” with hints of “Space 1889.”

And yet, it is virtually unknown. Writer and Austro-Hungarian Army veteran August Richter (perhaps inspired by the collapse of the ‘immortal’ empire where he spent his formative years) moves to the UK in 1924 and spends the next twelve years writing a book so large the intent was a trilogy, makes copius notes, and on the eve of his death as a volunteer in the International Brigade writes one of the most powerful introductions to science-fiction one might ever encounter: and all from the pen of a Hungarian boy turned Oxford graduate who spent a good many of his adult years in trenches.

The man literally wrote the template for life in the Imperial Guard. He introduced the concept of the -flawed- attempt to create a genetically perfect soldier (a stark criticism of Nazism) and the masochistic tendency to outlaw religion for fear of gods.

Nobody seems to care, not in the mainstream.

Is it because, as Frank Herbert argued, Richter’a family neglected to publish the remaining manuscripts, subsequently forgotten during the war? I suspect there is a great deal more to the story, and tend to agree with Fincham’s (1982) assessment the wounds of two world wars were perhaps too raw, the Mid-Century too interested in clean and easy plot resolution, to push it.

I don’t know, but certainly if we are discussing lost classics of the twentieth century (one meant at one point for film, no less), we can’t forget this one again!

Disclaimer: your dry delight is a bl game I used to play and I always enjoyed playing that game even through it's very short and I rarely see people talk about it so I been thinking making incorrect quotes it will mostly about Leslie, Richter, Meyer, Earl and some og characters I come up with.

2. Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs?

Sylvester ~ He was my first very well developed OC, and I just absolutely adore him. I’m also super hyped to start off the story I got planned with him!!!

3. Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else?

No, not yet. I’m more of an admirer then an adopter because I’m always scared that I’ll mess up their ideal of the character if I take over them ^

12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot

Ohhhhhhhh, um, @canadian-riddler robot children are a treat to read about, but the award goes to @missharleenfquinzel Motherducker for the most iconic oc, who I will not forget.

19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)

I can’t really introduce any, because I’ve introduced all my OC’s that I currently have, but in all honesty I can’t really tell you just one that means a lot because they all mean a lot to me, in their own ways. I love Sylvester because he was my first and most used OC, I love Lynnette because she’s amazing to write and develop and her relationship to Sylvester is pretty iconic, I love Phoebe because she allows me to explore a different route and introduces me to new possibilities, I love Vincent because he’s the morally torn special forces agent who really has to buckle down and make really hard choices, I love Ralph because he’s just a meme in the form of an OC and he’s a great laugh, and I love August because he’s a fascinating character to develop; to look over his past and to analyze the issues that he carries with him through obsessions and desire allow a lot of route for my story.

28. Your most dangerous OC?

August - August is the OC I have that could tear apart a family with a smile and a few words. He doesn’t need to use physical force, or chemicals, or threats to cause a great deal of damage - he just needs to have a persons attention and to speak.

31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really) 

Ralph Smith would have a blog that is the equivalent of a mess. He would have the pre set free theme, a disorganized tag system, a lot of posts with exclamation points and capitalized letters, private posts about school mixed in with random reblogs ranging from Gilmore Girls to Friends, and his about would simply be ‘the coolest of cool dudes’. His blog is a digital personification of him, p much.

21. Your most artistic OC                 

The title goes to Sylvester, the perfumer. Can’t really beat out literally turning people to an art form, I guess??

27. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song?                 

Nooooot really? I create OC’s and find songs that I match to them, but a fair amount of Lynnettes personality came from french pop songs, and a lot of Augusts came from choral, and Vincent, Phoebe, and Sylvester were all a cluster of various genres I just enjoyed searching!

31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really)                 

Lynnette would be a meme blog, no hesitation. She’d have the little doge animated in the corner, and it would be a colour sceme of white and pastel pink, and then you’d see her posts and it would all be awful memes, but the most in trend. She’d make her own memes too, mostly french ones or memes of Batman while she’s in Gotham, but she’d have the most hilarious tags on all the posts. She’d be pretty great to follow if you need a laugh.

42. Which one of your OCs would be the most interested in Greek gods?                 Both Sylvester and Phoebe. Phoebe because her father was Greek, so it makes sense to have an interest in her cultural background, and Sylvester because of his passion for the arts - specifically the arts created in the high point of ancient Greeks, and during the renaissance era.

48. OC who is a perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure                 

Vincent - like please he just wants to do his job as a Detective and put bad guys away, he doesn’t want any involvement in distilling and drug groups or wars.
