Phoebe is staying in the bathroom for now, so there's currently a scritches/cuddle tax in order to use the toilet. I was silly & didn't come in prepared, so Joel had to bring me my phone and water bc she's now sleeping in my lap.

At the ER vet bc Joel realized Phoebe was acting weird & we discovered she's got a couple inch gash right next to her asshole, sigh. Didn't want to wait around due to the placement.

She's been appropriately labeled after we warned the vet staff about my spicy kid.

Terrible picture but this creature has morphed back from being a flower child! Her abscess wound is smaller than a dime now & wasn't bleeding when licked at anymore, so she was finally given freedom. Now we just have to figure out how to keep her butt from exploding again I guess

Phoebe finished her meds on Sunday, which we've both been happy about! But also now she's no longer drugged to be sleepy & calm, so I haven't been able to get much of an updated picture of the butt wound to share.

But it's doing really well and is almost fully scabbed over!! There's one last spot at the top that needs to close up, then she will be allowed out in the run again, though maybe just during the day? Unsure yet. Gonna be a bit longer with the flower collar though, so she doesn't mess with the scab & open it again.

Phoebe updates: she's peed twice now, yesterday & today, and she pooped today! Very pleased everything is moving along correctly. Wound is closing up, much less hole-y, but still pretty gnarly. She did get her flower cone off today and I think licked a bit, but it doesn't look too bad.

She had Zero Regrets about it and will definitely do it again. Sigh.

We're moving Posy into the animal room tonight along with cage clean, and then tonight/tomorrow I'll get my room cleaned up & set up to share with Phoebe. She's definitely starting to get tired of the tiny bathroom. Probably going to be in my room for a week or so at least while wound continues healing.
