I wrote! For like! The first time in months! Have some new lizzy content, takes place in my primary timeline (thanks to @the-littlest-kojin for use of Shio, as well as tonal writing checking)

“A moment - Elizabeth, was it not?” Lizzy stops on her way out, “Yea?” “Are you aware that your aether has been... How to phrase this... Singed? Burned? It is curious. Different from other mortals.” Lizzy turns to face Suzaku, “I...don’t think I understand?” She continues, “Have you been in contact with some kind of fire-based entity?” Lizzy thinks, “I mean..Yea, a whole bunch...Ifrit for one.” Suzaku shakes her head, “You misunderstand. Not merely conflicted with; have any perhaps touched your aether directly?” Lizzy grows concerned, “Um….OH! There was Phoenix. I got resurrected during my fight with Bahamut.” Suzaku inclines her head gracefully, “That may be the cause, yes.”

She tilts her head in confusion, “For what reason do you keep it so contained?” Lizzy stares at her with a blank expression, “Uh….what?” She elaborates, “The aether inside of you - it is being kept locked up. If you were previously unaware, then mayhap I could teach you how to release it?” “Uhm, sure that would probably be a good idea, right?” Suzaku’s face brightens, “I have no doubt it will be of aid to you; If you were unaware of this spark, you were only utilizing a portion of your potential at most.” Lizzy moves away from the exit, towards Suzaku, “So, what kind of teaching is this?” Suzaku begins moving towards a room inside the cave, “Come, you shall see in due time. I am sure that a mortal of your prowess should not find it overly difficult.” Lizzy follows the deity into the other room, she spies various weaponry along one wall. She hesitantly starts, “Uh...Are...we going to be…?” and as she turns her head towards Suzaku, she narrowly dodges a fireball, “Whoa! Hey, what’s-?” Suzaku with a fierce gaze speaks as such, “Mortal! In order to bring forth your hidden aether, you must experience combat.” Lizzy draws her daggers out, but Suzaku shakes her head, “Attempt to cast a fireball at me.” Lizzy’s eyes widen, “Ah, uh...um…...I can’t.” Suzaku’s brow furrows, “Surely you must.” she punctuates it with another fireball towards Lizzy. Lizzy’s thoughts turn towards Sadu Dotharl, as she dodges fireball after fireball. The deity preventing Lizzy from getting close enough to use her daggers. She sheathes them, “Useless ass…” She continues dodging, much to the irritation of her opponent, “Strike back! You cannot continue to dodge forever.” Lizzy pivots on the most recent fireball, and attempts to catch it, the fire embraces her hands, causing a massive surge of pain, but she bears through it and feels the aether move into her arms. She uses the sensation to push it out, and a small fireball shoots out towards the assaulting deity. Lizzy stares at her hands in shock, “I...did it?” Suzaku waves off the feeble fireball, her expression of joy and happiness, “Indeed! Good, young mortal. Very good! Now, again.” she commands. Lizzy tries her best to feel the sensation again, firing out another small fireball.

“Elizabeth, it appears we may have a familiar guest upon us.” “Suzy, why do you speak so stiffly?” Lizzy inquires. The nickname causes the reaction Lizzy expected, the deity blushed. Suzaku gasps, “My name is Suzaku, not ‘Suzy’. I simply speak in a manner that I am familiar with.” Lizzy smiles at her, “You should try adopting my speech sometime, I think you’d find it fun.” she snaps out of her teasing, “Oh, you mentioned a guest?” Suzaku nods, “A little Kojin.” Lizzy leaves the overly charred and burnt sparring room, and meets the small guest out in the main area. She seems timid and nervous at first, when Lizzy speaks, “Don’t worry, it’s just us and the auspices here. No scions.” She lets out a small sigh of relief, “How have things been, oh Lizzy-one?” Lizzy shows her clothes, mostly tattered, with various scorch marks, “Oh you know, the usual. How are things on your end, Shio?” “Just trying to hide out for a bit, from some associates.” Lizzy nods in understanding, when Suzaku enters the room in her humanoid form, causing Shio to stiffen in her posture. “Elizabeth, if you are intending to entertain our guest, perhaps we should get you properly dressed?” With a wave of the deity’s hand, Lizzy gets adorned by robes of orange and red. She moves to Lizzy’s side, and summons a staff of fire and feathers, that she hands to Lizzy. Lizzy examines the staff, it’s shape and warmth reminiscent of the deity. “It’s surprisingly warm!” Lizzy cringes at the obviousness in her statement, “I..I mean, thank you! I…” Lizzy finds herself blushing, before realizing that she’s also wearing new clothes, “OH! The outfit! It’s!” Suzaku chimes in, perhaps in an attempt to save Lizzy from further embarrassment, “Now, Elizabeth, I designed these garments to show everyone who you studied under. Who trained you. Now please, mortal, don’t bring shame to this outfit.” Lizzy looks at her earnestly, “I promise I’ll only do phenomenal and great deeds in your name. However, can I make a small request?” Suzaku tilts her head curiously, “Hm?” Lizzy gives a surprising beaming smile, “Please call me Lizzy.” The request takes the deity aback, she recomposes herself swiftly before responding, “As you wish, Lizzy.” Shio, seemingly still starstruck, fails to make a comment. Lizzy starts, “How are the turtles doing?” Shio snaps out of it, and smiles, “They’re great! You should visit again.” “I should, it’s been a bit…” Lizzy’s face grows with concern, “Are the scions…” as she trails off, she decides to switch gears, “If anyone gives you shit, just send them my way, ok?” Shio tries to gauge Lizzy’s intentions, but nods. They find themselves alone in the cave, and Shio takes the opportunity to ask a question on her mind, “Are you and Suzaku…?” Lizzy fills in the gap, “o-oh! Uh…” she shifts uneasily, “N-no...not uh, um...no.” Shio squints at Lizzy, unconvinced. Lizzy avoids her gaze, desperately wishing an auspice to appear. Shio squints harder. Lizzy begins to sweat a little, she tugs at the collar of her new robes, “It’s uh...a little hot in here...Isn’t it?” Shio, still squinting, responds, “Yes. It is a volcano after all.” Lizzy tries her best to continue avoiding the unyielding daggers that is the gaze of Shio of the Kojin of the Blue, “S-so, uh, you um. Have business here?” Shio ignores the question, “Elizabeth. Answer me one question. Are you fucking my deity?” As if on cue, Suzaku returns, “Elizabeth, is our guest going to be staying overlong? She may stay for tonights feast if she wishes.” Lizzy has never dreaded Suzaku using ‘Our’, yet now it stings. Shio must pick up on Lizzy’s unease, but breaks her squinting to politely answer the lingering deity, “Oh, I would love to spend the evening here!” “Marvelous!” Suzaku claps her hands, “Elizabeth, we have much training to do before our feast, so please come along.” Lizzy thanks her goddess for being taken away from the interrogation.
