Chapter 352 - Ultimate Moves
Forgot to post this, but I finished giving Arceus, otherwise named Phosper, a design (mostly in attempt to make his shiny in game counter part appear, this is an awful hunt XD)
"My Father's Warmth" Chapter 102: Ignescent
Kirishima gets a little spotlight, and Shoto has started to get the hang of his new Ultimate Move! It's not quite there yet though

It's my power.
there was a post made by someone else on here criticizing todoroki’s quirk/moves that peeved me off so i’ll speak my truth and say todoroki’s moves phosphor and great glacial aegir are the greatest in the story. maybe not the most powerful and not used on the big bad but they’re the ones that was the most grounded in a character’s story/themes, were made with intention and not a sudden power up, and shows his character growth even when the ending of the story was falling on itself!
There will always be critics, but to me Shouto's quirk development is the best and most consistent, also deeply connected with his personal growth arc.
I love that in the end every mistake, every detour mattered to put together Phosphor:
His initial rebellion against his father that pushed his ice-side output and mastery as far as he could without fire
His fight against Midoriya and reaching out to Rei, which made him pick up fire again
Facing his trauma in JTA, unlocking flashfire, seeking out Endeavor to perfect it, and inviting along Bakugo and Deku to help challenge himself
His first fight against Dabi, where he realized that flashfire was a dead end, he can't be stronger than Touya just with fire and fighting fire with more fire will get them both killed
Going back to the drawing board, reinterpreting and reimagining his own quirk not as two separate quirks (mom's and dad's) but a unique single quirk (Shouto's)
Making this quirk to be the expression of Shouto's own will - wanting to stop Touya without killing him
I really love how Phosphor is everything that Shouto picked up and learned along the way. Truly, there are no freebies here - he worked and suffered, and picked himself up again and again. It's all his soul-searching, the bridges he built, the confrontations he took, his losses - all of it is in the Phosphor technique and it is as beautiful as his soul.
Final Shoto sticker/collage page for now! ^_^
