L I G H T I N G Day 6: Current Challenges #21daysinmyartworld Today’s prompt really made me think about what things I am struggling with at the moment. I guess I’ve mostly just felt so lucky to have my own studio space during such uncertain times I haven’t really felt like I’ve had many challenges with my art. I’m just grateful to still be able to continue my practice. When I dug a little deeper one of the things that kept coming back to me is the lighting in my studio. During the summer months it’s completely fine but recently trying to get a decent photo that isn’t tinged in warm light and shadows is almost impossible. If I want a half decent photo right now I have to try to do it late morning and right in the front of my studio. My work is extremely detailed and getting the photo right is so important to showing in it’s best light. Anyone else finding this a problem? Photographing my artwork takes up a chunk of my time. I have to run the paintings back-and-forth between the house and my studio, so I need to do this on a day when there is no rain. It makes for a pretty active workout, but I don’t mind.
