Tutorial: Como delinear/traçar textos no Photoshop

Olá, esse é o primeiro tutorial nesse novo blog e meu terceiro por aqui no Tumblr; cr

Vou mostrar um truque para substituir as fontes “outline” que são o traçado no formato da fonte. Já fiz um lista de recomendação com 12 fontes desse estilo aqui.

Programa de edição: Photoshop CS6 (que eu uso);

Dificuldade: fácil.

Então, vamos lá!

01. Abra o Photoshop, e digite o seu texto.

02. Escolha a camada de texto que você quer transformar em traço. Click com o botão esquerdo do mouse e selecione “Opções de mesclagem…”.

03. Ou você pode apenas clicar em “Fx” (fica na parte inferior da lateral esquerda) que vai aparecer a mesma opção (não tenho ideia do porquê, mas não consegui tirar print para mostrar direitinho).

04. Na barra direita de “Estilo de camada”, selecione “Traçado” e configure como desejar. Em estrutura: “tamanho” é a grossura que o traçado vai ficar.

05. Vá em “Opções Mescl.: Personaliz.” no topo da barra direita e em, “Opacidade de Preench.:”, coloque 0%.

06. E, pronto. Seu texto traçado está feito.

Vou deixar um exemplo de como você pode usar em suas edições (além de como fiz no cabeçalho dessa postagem).

Fiz uma "sombra" com a fonte duplicada em branco e movi um pouco para o lado oposto a fonte traçada do da branca, sem muito segredo.

hey, can give me some suggestions for coloring actions/psd for pocs? there is a masterlist of psd that are "poc friendly" but in black and brown people the psd looks orange and ugly and i can't make it work

remember    that    not    every    psd    is    perfect    or    will    work    on    every    fc    !    i    suggest    you    toy    with    the    psd    to    make    it    work    on    your    fc    of    choice    ,    specifically    with    the    selective    color    /    hue    &    saturation    /    vibrance    layers    .    hopefully    the    following    tutorials    can    help    you    .

how have you managed to make such high quality gifs of flashback? bc i am Struggling. would you mind sharing your settings etc?

of course!! i am always more than happy to help spread the photoshop love!!! i'm gonna put this under a read more bc it's gonna be long, i just know it.

right, first of all, you're going to want to make sure you have a HQ version of whatever you're trying to gif. i've got a 1080p version that i use to make my gifs from. then, i use KMplayer to make my gifs. i can always make a tutorial on exactly how i do this if you like, but the closest one i can find to my process can be found here. i do all of the first 6 steps, but i don't sharpen my gifs the way shown in step 7.

okay, so once you have all your files loaded in & have created your frame animation, i normally actually set my delay between frames to 0.06, unlike the tutorial, but it’s totally preference with that kind of thing. i just feel this runs the smoothest. then i come and click on this little icon and select “convert to video timeline”:

after that, you want to select ALL your layers, and once done, head up to the filter drop down in the task bar and select “convert for smart filters”. hit okay on the little pop-up box. this will now give you one single “object” to work with, rather than having to edit all frames individually:

then, smack ur PSD over the top of that bad boy. i tend to grab a few frames from different scenes of a movie i want to gif, and mess around with a psd until i find something that generally works with all scene types. the benefit of having it all as a smart object is you can add adjustment layers in addition to your PSD to fiddle with colour balance, brightness, etc. i chose this scene in particular because i had to mess with both. 

as you can see, my psd has almost worked, it’s just a bit too dark and a bit too yellow, so i’ll add a colour balance & a brightness adjustment layer and see how it looks after that. 

okay, so i’ve done those two layers, and you can see here i’ve put them under my PSD because then they’re affecting the base frames before the PSD is, which i find works best when doing small adjustments. now! once i’ve got my colouring all sorted, i then move on to sharpening my gifs. so! the first thing i do is select the smart object of my gif, head up to the filters, and click on sharpen > smart sharpen. the settings i use for my smart sharpen are as follows:

then, save that bad boy, and what you’ll want to do next is click back on your smart object, hit ctrl J and duplicate that object. sometimes, if you’ve been scrolling through the gif with the little timeline scroller, your new object will duplicate at a weird place, so you’ll want to make sure you line them up:

you literally just click and drag to move objects in the video timeline, super easy. okay! then on that newly duplicated layer, you’re gonna want to add a gaussian blur, bc as much as we love the sharpness, we don’t want it to be so in your face. set that baby to 1.0 pixels:

then, you’re going to want to go back to your layers, and click on the blending options beside gaussian blur:

i set mine to 75% opacity. hit okay, and then i also set the entire layer opacity to somewhere between 50-80%. i go higher for scenes that are of a bit lower quality, because it takes away some of the harshness. for this scene in particular, i set it to 60%. 

and then it’s done! i just then file > export > save to web ! you can see how big the gif is here, and this one in particular was a bit too bit, so you can just hit cancel, go back, and you can actually shorten the gif by dragging the ends of the smart object to make it shorter. you’ll want to make sure you do it to both layers though. i don’t think i’ve ever messed with my export settings, but just in case, here they are!!

and that’s pretty much it! i hope this was helpful!!! i’m also happy to do more of a colouring, PSD making tutorial if that’s something you’d be interested in, or if there is anything that doesn’t make sense, or i’ve talked in circles (lmao, likely) please feel free to come ask me anything else as well!
